WOGA Baby Alert
Someone sent me links to this girl a year back and I stupidly lost them. Irina Alexeeva is the latest baby darling of the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy. Her Russian parents are good friend with the Liukins and she has been climbing the club gymnastics ranks. Last year, Irina dominated Level 7 in the state of Texas. She has been a part of Super Girl By Nastia launches and has the wonderful Russian genes, hands and lines going on. After seeing the level 6 state meet recently, it looks like WOGA may be developing a new batch of promising home-grown gymnasts.

Didn't she come to WOGA with Dina Kamalova, and since Dina is gone is she still at WOGA or did she go with Dina?
ReplyDeleteAnyone know how old she is?
ReplyDeleteIn the last video, the announcer says she's 7. It's so cute when she's waiting to go on floor and you can tell she's so nervous.
ReplyDeleteShe's 8 years old and still at WOGA :)
ReplyDeleteI like her gymnastics, but I wish someone at WOGA would bother to teach the girls to move fluidly. It is absolutely not necessary to do all of your dance with locked out elbows and hyper-tense wrists while jumping from pose to pose. Sometimes getting from position to position with flow and grace looks a lot better, even dancing through the position instead of stopping at each pose. Some work on port-de-bras at the barre with an actual ballet instructor would help all of the WOGA girls, from the little lvl. 7's all the way up to Nastia.
ReplyDelete2020 eligible! Madness :D!
ReplyDeleteshe certainly has the wogawrists down.
ReplyDeleteShe's def one to watch! What a cutie!
ReplyDeletehaha wogawrists
ReplyDeleteRemember that beam routine because when she's finally made elite and at the Olympics, lord knows we'll be watching the same dance with more difficult skills.
ReplyDeleteShe is super clean but her bar routine really isn't that good for Level 7. If she was wearing a different leo she wouldn't score that well on bars.
ReplyDeleteBlogging about eight-year-olds now? That's a new low even for this blog.
ReplyDelete"Blogging about eight-year-olds now? That's a new low even for this blog."
ReplyDeleteWhat an odd comment. There's nothing offensive in the blog about this 8 year old. She was put on Youtube to be seen and appreciated, afterall.
I think she's adorable. And I love how clean she is.
Her beam is a little too herky jerky for me, but it's very nice execution.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I liked her beam. I think she has incredible poise and polish on that for her age. I like that routine, too. I assume it's compulsory? (I don't know much about the levels below 10 and elite.)
ReplyDeleteI thought her beam routine was amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe beam choreo is very sharp as opposed to soft and fluid, but that's just her style. For a little kid, she's awesome. It's Level 7, so it's not compulsory.
ReplyDeleteDid this girl move her recently from Russia with her family?
Liukin doesn't even coach this girl does he. I like that AJ posts about some young talents who we may be able to look out for as they get older. For goodness sake, the Nica Hults videos out of Texas Dreams are just as random.
ReplyDeletePlus, it's fun sometimes just to get to watch lower level routines. Brings me back to when I was super young!
ReplyDeleteThe Liukins are sponsoring this blog, so of course AJ has been promoting them and WOGA as much as he can. It's indeed very annoying to some readers.
ReplyDelete...Yes, AJ absolutely ass kisses to the Liukins. That's exactly why, despite being a WOGA girl, he's always kvetching about Rebecca Bross and her terrible knees. Clearly, that's ass kissing and having the Liukins as a sponsor...
ReplyDeleteWTF. Trolls much, anyone?
Anyway, I think this kid has the "it" factor, but I definitely agree with everyone about the "dancing," if you can even call it that.
he's always kvetching about Rebecca Bross and her terrible knees
ReplyDelete-----------------------
When did AJ kvetch about Bross last time? AGES ago. WOGA fanatics, haha, hilarious.
Most good levels 7s have giants on bars and can open a clear hip to at least above horizontal.
ReplyDeleteGoogle Ads are random and selected by google. The Liukins do not sponsor this blog.
ReplyDeletespeaking of Nica Hults, her mom put up a new video on youtube and it says she's aiming for elite
ReplyDeleteI don't follow gymnastics much as skating, but I do notice that AJ has stopped bashing/trashing Evan Lysacek ever since he became the (boy)friend (gay or not) of Nastia Liukin. ;)
ReplyDeleteEvan was with Nastia all of last season and there was definitely Evan bashing.
ReplyDeleteGeeze, Google ads work by selecting websites which match certain words to advertisers' product- hence, the term Google "AdWords". The ads are randomly placed on blogs according to the topics most discussed on them. WHY would the Liukins, who are worth millions of dollars, "sponsor" a gossip blog? Seriously, why?? Get some brain cells.
ReplyDeleteThe irony is that every time we mention the family's name, it makes it more likely that an ad related to them will show up on this website, and continue to fuel the trolling.
ReplyDeleteI've never gotten the impression that AJ was biased in any ways at all. There was a discussion a while back about him being a blatant supporter of UCLA, or a promoter of Georgia. He's bashed them both too! WOGA gets coverage, but it's not all positive, a lot of it is critical. One reason I love this blog is because although AJ is harsh sometimes, he also is pretty dead-on in his assessments and has no agenda other than giving his take on the skating and gymnastics worlds. I have a lot of respect for that.
ReplyDeleteThe notion that the Liukins somehow sponsor this blog is absolutely hilarious and perhaps the most ridiculous thing ever said in the history of this blog!
^^"I've never gotten the impression that AJ was biased in any ways at all."
ReplyDelete************
LOL. This is absolutely hilarious and perhaps the most ridiculous thing ever said in the history of this blog! LOL, hahaha...
I find it so weird and annoying that people continue to post and comment on a blog they apparently can't stand. Go away, you make the comments section dull to read.
