The Kween, Her Majesty, HRH
Michelle looked stunning at the White House State Dinner for the President of China Hu Jintao. We really need to get Oprah to have the Kween on her show for her farewell season. Hell, I want her to give a 'Master Class' on own and talk about 'dreams, falling and getting back up.' That show is made for one of the Kween's diplomacy speeches. Like a good bordeaux, Michelle just gets better and better with age. Michelle looked flawless as usual and even managed to outshine Vera Wang, who is not a member of the Michelle Kwan school of aging. Remember when Michelle was just a dorky young girl with oodles of talent and dreams of Olympic Gold? Gosh, I worship her.

oooh, MK is WORKIN' that gold sequin Herve Leger. Sarah Hughes should take notes.
ReplyDeleteYou fashion dorkiness never ceases to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteI'm cutting Vera Wang some slack bc she's twice MK's age. She could look better for being asian, but she looks pretty good for her age in general, I'd say.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Vera up close. She hasn't eaten in years.
ReplyDeleteSee the children run as the sun goes down, among the Fields of Gold Lamé.
ReplyDeleteWhy was Anna Wintour there? Kwan looked great.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely stunning! There were some really nice dresses at the dinner, but only The Kween was a true show stopper.
ReplyDeleteShe should have worn silver haha just kidding
ReplyDeleteNow imagine Rachael Flatt wearing that...
ReplyDeletelove the dress on Jennifer Lopez in silver, love it on Michelle in gold
ReplyDeletefine fresh fierce flawless etc.
amazing. love.
ReplyDeleteWas Michelle's dress appropriate though? I think a floor length dress is more suited to a state dinner.
ReplyDeleteIt also looked great on Michael Phelps in black.
ReplyDeleteWang looks like an anorexic in denial- the dress (sad sack that it is) is wearing her.
ReplyDeleteRE: if you can look that good in a dress (regardless of metallic color), you should wear it- perfectly fine for a state dinner, esp. if you want to attract some attention (which Ms. Kwan would be wise to do for her diplomatic career aspirations). Smart lady.
I can't hang With VW though I did love her on Your OWN Show.
ReplyDeleteMichelle looks beautiful - but that dress makes her look more like she's out to snag a diplomat husband then she's interested in being taken seriously as a diplomat herself
ReplyDeleteVera looks like Vera *shrug*
ReplyDeleteMichelle - In the words of Tyra Banks and Mister and Miss Jay...FIERCE!!!
Sandals in January in Washington, D.C.? Right.
ReplyDeleteMichelle is a goddess. Why should she cover up her assets in a long dress? She stole the show in that outfit. Gold is her color.
ReplyDeleteVera Wang looks like she is suffering from consumption. Sad. Doesn't she know that in middle age you should put on a few pounds so that you don't looks downright haggard?
ReplyDeleteMichelle looked fab but Vera? umm... a walking skeleton & very old. She thinks she looks hot - not.
ReplyDeleteVera Wang is in her 60s and more than twice Michelle's age. It's absurd to criticize her for looking less than amazing. She is wearing an ugly dress, but Dave, you should appreciate her extraordinary thinness.
