Michelle's Tosca from that year is probably her most electrifying performance ever! It's not one of my favorite programs but the power, intensity, energy and general WOW! she poured into that program was historical. That is the definition of bringing a house down...
MATT SAVOIE!! Totally undermarked (transitions, difficult entries, interesting choreography that actually reflected the music), and even with the fall on the lutz I thought he should have won. The scores were really, really close.
Damn, watching these videos of Michelle can be gut-wrenching. I grew up watching her, although my interest in skating waned after 1998 (Tara pissed me off) and I only paid attention during Olympic years. It seems like Michelle turned in these phenomenal performances everywhere BUT the Olympics. Could you imagine if she skated like this in Nagano, Salt Lake, or Torino?! Amazing!
so glad you put Evan's 2007 LP up there!
ReplyDeleteJeremy! all the way.

ReplyDeletePersonally I would had chosen Johnny's Dr Zhivago from 2004 as his highlight skate.
