41 more previews before opening. In the old days all the tech stuff would be worked out in New Haven. Now no big tech show can afford an out of town tryout, so the kinks have to be worked out in Manhattan. I'm sure they'll be fixed by opening night. I'm more concerned about the book and music - cause word is it's not so good.
As for the state of the musical. This is a tourist show, just like Mama Mia, Cats or Phantom. The big shows are for money, so shows like Next to Normal, The Light in the Piazza, or Caroline or Change can be produced.
Spiderman, the musical? Seriously? This is what American musical theater has been reduced to?

You would think they wouldn't be panicking when there are FOURTY ONE rehearsals left to work out the kinks. Geez.
