Jay Clark is a sore loser. 'We had the best handstands, so we were underscored. Our vaults were better than other team's that got the same score' Your team is overrated. Get over it. I think he was surprised the Noel's score was so low, actually. McComb still looks like a poodle.
They are under the impression that they are the same team they were three to five years ago. Uh no, sorry Jay, but your team is scraping the bottom of the barrel these days.
1) "The feet" were not together for Tanella's bail 1/2. The thighs are not "the feet." I know it's hard to see during the meet, but it should've been obvious when you were watching & talking with the video. Explanation?
2) You've never "seen a kid stick as many dismounts as Kat?" Were you blind during Courtney Kupets' entire Gym Dawg career?
3) How is Shayla Worley's bhs-lso series a) easy and b) only a "mental thing" when her forehead is nearly scraping the beam on the layout? Technical error much?
@11:38, I asked the same question! Couch was probably overscored at 9.8 but Nuccio had a bare minimum of .3 in landing deductions alone. Some of the scoring at SECs was pretty bad. From what I've seen beam was judged pretty fairly across the board but vault loosened up considerably as the competition went on. Not taking away anything from Bama or Florida b/c they have great vaulting teams, but they did receive some gifts.
Anon @3:59, I completely agree about vault loosening up towards the end during Bama and Florida's rotations. I would also probably say that bars loosened up a bit as well, but not to the extent of vault.
Jay needs to lay off of complaining about scores though as his team got some gifts too. I thought Kayla Hoffman was overscored on FX at 9.775 with 2 uncontrolled landings, as well as Marissa King with a 9.850 after she flew out of her double arabian, but Gina Nuccio's 9.825 for 3 uncontrolled landings takes the cake for most overscored FX routine (that I have seen). Also, going by the judging during Bama and Florida's beam rotations, the judges could have easily had McComb at 9.75. Her 9.825 was generous.
The UGA gymnastics team suffers from delusions of grandeur. Its really sad.

ReplyDeleteHe thought Noel's floor was too low
ReplyDeleteAgreed to all these other posts. ^^ And yeah, McComb's hair makes me weep.

I love the beginning of this video, Jay looks soooooo pissed off.
ReplyDeletehow did Nuccio outscore Couch on floor when she had no solid landings?

Shayla has a major technique issue on her series and lacks split on her layout stepouts.
