  3. No way that routine was better than Pisani. The only thing going for it was the tumbling. The rest was just s c a r y

  4. It could be worse. She could wall 5 times and put her hands down once, while only landing one of her tumbling runs.

  5. Not wild about the dance, but really liked the tumbling.

  6. I like it! It interprets and catches the feeling of the type of music (Drumline, anyone?) Let's face it - it's A LOT better than the so-called "choreography" elite gymnasts are passing off as "dance" nowadays.

  8. If she was wearing a ucla leotard, everyone would be talking about what a work of art it is.

  9. Well....it brought a smile to my face.

  10. She sure was determined to kick the **** out of that floor routine.

Ignoring the execution of the actual dance elements (it's possible that she's just one of those gymnasts whose legs never look straight), I have to admit I kind of enjoy her approach to the whole routine.

  11. Sass and passion. I'll take that over any of the craptastic elite "choreography" any day of the week

  12. I loved the routine. She is not a great dancer, but she can perform. She gave it all she had. Good for her.
About the UCLA remark, UCLA would of love to have a girl with this much power. UCLA routines are in another level. What do you expect out of the SEC. Almost no one in that conferance can dance. All the great dancers go out west. go pac 12.

  13. Actually great dancers go to ucla, but great dancers are Made in Oklahoma! :)

  14. HOW do we get a gurl like this in figure skating!? BRING IT!

  15. I luv that she has one of those rebound elements when she bounces off the floor on her butt. I believe Memmel had a variation of this in her 2003 FX routine. Is there a word for this kind of "dance element", or is "butt bounce" appropriate?

  20. I agree with Anon April 4 4:40, and with the Anon just above me. IMO, it is sheer brilliance. I mean that!

For this girl, I will abandon any Dick Button/Kathy Johnson sensibilities I have. She's worth it - she deserves it.

She cuts through what can be the mind-numbing ennui of NCAA with her passion and energy. No small feat!

It's kinda like watching the frenetic craziness of a 1996-2000 Yvonne Tousek routine - only with a much different style of dance. Some people will dry heave at the fact that I invoked Tousek - oh well, you'll live.

I haven't been as interested in a LSU routine since the days of April Burkholder.

Don't change for Aunt Joyce or anyone, Lloimincia!
