Agree about the fugly leaps/jumps but dayum, the way she struts around on that beam like she owns it - fabulous. And I never thought we'd see the full-in dismount again, short landing or no.
That was the leader on beam?? I can't believe that wobbly flex -footed routine with that disgraceful dismount is what is qualifying as "beautiful" on a world stage now. It was absolutely without grace, and if moving fast counts as "fierce" I guess it was. Ugh, I think I've about taken all I can of elite gym.
Fierce. Gosh I love her.
ReplyDeleteThat dismount wasn't just fugly it looked downright scary.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise-gorgeous routine. She was my fave on Romania's 2004 Olympic team and she (along with Porgras) is my favorite on the Romanian team now.
Welcome back Cata. :)
It was ruined for me after the first leap. Ugly. The interior of the routine was great.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that leap sucked. 'sup with that?
ReplyDeleteLove Cata, but not too impressed with the her leaps or Mostepanova (?). Poor extension and flexed feet, oy!

ReplyDelete@9:25 ^ My thoughts exactly. The standards have really fallen. This was so sloppy it would have not even made EF in past eras.
