This and That

Jeremy Abbott is "up and coming" as a two-time National Champion.

Stars On Ice premiered last night.  Check out photos from their rehearsals in Lake Placid.

Peng Peng Lee's return to competition.

Jay Clark spoke to GXtra about the progress of the Gym Dogs.  Christa Tanella has vastly improved her strength-to-weight ratio.  It looks like her sluggishness may be gone.  Christa struggled getting through full bar routines all of last fall, but she is currently in the lead-off position.  It is unclear whether she will stay there when Nuccio returns from injury, but she is certainly looking much better than last year.  She looks to be training all four events.  There have been shots of her looking almost powerful on floor exercise.

  2. Ha! I suppose, compared to the rest of the cast on that Special, Jeremy is "up and coming". (but that comment struck me as funny, too)

I'm always surprised when he does an interview where he comes off as kind of normal. I tend to remember the "I love Kung Fu" moment. At least he uses a natural sounding voice, and doesn't try to fake it like Evan.

  3. Puberty has been much kinder to Peng Peng than it was to Charlotte Mackie... Good to see her back.

If Tanella is currently the lead on bars w/o Nuccio, does that mean Noel Couch is in the lineup???

  4. Where has Peng Peng been? What pretty form and she looks like she's been working out hard!

  5. Lysacek is raving about how good the Lake Placid crowd was at the debut of Stars on Ice. LP is very hard to get to, so I'm surprised they had a good audience.

  6. Peng Peng had a serious back injury, iirc. Which should come as absolutely no surprise, if you remember her junior elite days.

  7. Peng Peng definetly looks very slim given she's been out for so long with a back injury

  8. Loved the performance of Jeremy! The interviewer was kind of duh though...

  9. I am so excited about how great Cassidy McComb looks in these videos, she looked especially fantastic in this one. She has always had such nice dance on floor and it looks even better with her new and more svelte frame.

  10. Why, what about Peng Peng's Jr Elite days hinted she would get a back injury? I love her illusion turn on beam.

  11. So miss val recruits someone who's back is on its last leg. Gee I am sure that nothing can possibly go wrong there.

  12. everyone from Seneca has back injuries {except for PPL's teammate Taylor who broke her neck}. It is not surprising at all. This will be a problem through out her career.

  13. What is weird about Jeremy calling himself "up and coming"? He's 2-time National Champ, but he's only been to a few Worlds and hasn't medaled yet.
