Interesting how Plushenko is understanding the competition. I think he is re - inventing himself on the ice and is getting better and better. His spins are not predictable as in the past but he could do them more spectacular. I cant't wait to see him at Europeans. The Zar is back again.
I think Plushy's spins are pretty bad compared to what the other top men are trying to do. Both Dai and Patrick's spins are much better. Plushy's jump landings are shaky, too, but still impressive given his recent surgery.
I agree about the spins. I also wonder who in the world put that program together. I don't like it. However I think his jumps are good but that day he was just off. You can see his technique is still spot on with his jumps.
I was actually impressed with the detail to arm and hand positions in this program.... his stretch seems improved too. It appears he's been quietly working on the artistic side of his skating. The program is poorly constructed for points - all 3 of his jumping passes are in the 1st half! :/
Well given his physical condition, I think putting the jumps in the first half was the proper thing to do. I read somewhere that he had some back surgery recently; pushing the jumps late in the program is going to be incredibly risky.
Impressive. Nice to see he's also worked on his spins. Looking forward to seeing more.

DeleteI enjoy Google's translation of the results page, which shows the pairs as "Vapor."
