The Princess at Russian Nationals

She may have fallen and taken an extra swing, but the girl is still amazing.

  1. Beautiful look on bars, long lines... That was a nasty fall.

I just can't wait until all these girls start competing against each other in the AA!

  2. I bet she's going to connect that opening sequence to make it Shaposh-Pak-"Komova." In fact, hasn't she done that before?

  3. I don't think she could get her feet under the bar quick enough for an Inbar transition. That would probably result in disaster.

  4. But I would've said the same about Tweddle... and look at THAT bitch now! Jesus. Talk about a monster combo!

  5. I want to cheer on the home team American girls, but they're so boring compared to Mustafina and Komova. How can you not love this girl's gymnastics?

  7. That fall looks hard, why aren't they using softer mats? She's so amazing!

  8. Brg09- I've pretty much decided I'm rooting for the Russians until Ohashi becomes a senior.

  9. Her full-out is very similar to Khorkina's... same technique?

  10. I didn't see an extra swing anywhere. She cleared horizontal on her counter swing before the pak salto so that's not an extra swing. Anyone see it?

I agree with Marcus it would be really hard to get her feet under for that combo. It's hard to do much out of a pak other than a kip.

  11. Not to mention the fact that her legs are about four times as long as her arms, which complicates matters somewhat.

Although it makes for lovely lines, esp. on bars and beam.

  12. Shes awesome... America has nothing compared to her or even what she did in Singapore, even with falling in beam finals she took gold in AA and every other apparatus final at the junior olympics in 2010...shes amazing. If she stays healthy and makes fewer mistakes than the rest she's pure gold in 2012 she makes me excited to watch gymnastics again...
