Chapeau! What a great skate; beautiful from the knees down and up, everything clean, confident. Hope he remains wonderful while training more difficult jumps. This is now my favorite program from nationals, thank you for posting it.
He rocks!!! Saw him skate in person in August 2009 and wow, for a 14yo (at the time) his skating was mighty impressive and powerful. Glad to see him continue on an upward swing.
I really enjoyed that skate. Sure, he kinda looks like a slightly more masculine Kimmie Meissner, but I think that will disappear as he gets older. I irrationally like his long hair. I doubt it will endear him to TPB, but I like that he is setting himself apart. With a 3A and better spin centering, he could be a real contender.
OMG. Some of these comments are appalling! Womens' skating? Lack of facial expression? He's fucking fifteen years old. What do you expect? Just ENJOY the performance instead of micro-analyzing every single minute aspect.
This kid will be big in the future. Mark my words.
This program had great excitement and impact in the arena--he filled up the place. Great to see his personality, and hope it doesn't get crushed on the way to the top!
He skated a great performance, but if he wants to advance in the cookie-cutter world of USFSA, he'd better either lose the ponytail or the feminine-looking outfit, or both

ReplyDeleteHe's fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that was definitely a "don't blink or you'll miss something wonderful" type of program, reminiscent of Matt Savoie.
ReplyDeletehe skates and looks like a girl. The music certainly carried that program.
ReplyDeleteis this womens skating?

ReplyDeleteLOL @ the people who call this women's skating.
ReplyDeletePlease go look at someone named John Curry and get back to me about artistry. Some people just DON'T know figure skating.
Wow, loved it. Lots of panache, also liked that split leap a lot. He's on his way.
ReplyDeleteNice, but like Takahashi and Patrick Chan, there is a lack of facial expression that is a little disconcerting.
ReplyDeleteAnd btw, he is a ringer for Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

ReplyDeleteLet's send him to Worlds !! Ha ha, just kidding, but seriously, what would the difference be....?
ReplyDeleteAnon4:51, are you seriously suggesting that Takahashi lacks facial expressions !!??!! Could've fooled me lol !
ReplyDeletere anon 5:24:
ReplyDeleteWhoops - I meant Kozuka, not Takahashi!
Sorry, I've been spending a lot of time in front of my computer watching the protesters in Egypt and its made me a little loopy.

ReplyDeleteI like his ponytail and I have no idea why. It just fits him I guess. His costume is fine... He looks like Savoie! His skating resembles him as well.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutley great and seems like a nice kid. I also think his ponytail is cute. But then the judges haven't like a lot of things that I liked.
