This and That
Clips of the Russians training in Round Lake. Interesting to note that Nabieva is back in Round Lake. She appears slightly sluggish, but is back in the mix after being sent home to get her shit together following illness and injuries. She is one determined girl who is always making things interesting with her personality.

When did Jenny start getting plastics and botox?
ReplyDeleteJenny doesn't have botox.
ReplyDeleteFYI- She roomed with Tanith Belbin on Champions on Ice.
Ha, ha, ha. Not a surprise.
DeleteDo they both realize they were beards for Evan being gay?
DeleteKatie H. is starting to LOOK like her husband- both in physical appearance and in stare/countenance (attitude).
ReplyDeleteWEIRD!!!
Russian news announcer has the team as Grishina, Musty, Komova, Afan, and one vacancy - not that that's surprising in the least, but I can't remember if we've had a statement like that re: Afan before this.
ReplyDeleteI believe Alexandrov said that same thing a few months ago.
DeleteI dont think thats round lake??
ReplyDeletepotatoes really are fattening, just because you don't want to eat food that makes you fat doesn't mean you have an eating problem.
ReplyDeleteWow, I just can not believe I sat through that whole Jenny Kirk clip. Quite astonishing how annoying she is.
ReplyDeleteAnd, note to previous poster, potatoes are nourishing, not fattening, there's a difference.
Just to add, if you are a real athlete and you are seriously training to build muscle and strength, it is actually work to meet your complete caloric intake. Potatoes, like nuts and seeds, are whole foods and should be included in any well rounded diet. It's just choosing what foods feel right and in what combinations a body craves that make a difference.
DeleteDoes anyone think Jenny Kirk's articles are tumblr-esque diary entries about her daddy issues, distant mother syndrome, self-induced eating disorders, angsty pseudo-sexual relationship with her coach, and whinging about her skating career?
ReplyDeleteGirl is messed up.
ya what's with her firing her coach being turned into "my first break up'? it wasn't a bf
DeleteNo, girl is just a typical skating star type. She probably got this idea while growing up that she could be this super important skating princess--and,now that she is grown up, she would love to see herself as this super relevant broadcast journalist.
DeleteOnly, sorry to say Jenny, but you can't be a serious journalist if the only subject you are capable of talking about with any insight is yourself.
Yeah, and lot's of Daddy issues, I am sure. . .
DeleteJenny Kirk is a broken human being for life. Having messed up authority figures while growing up and being anorexic in her teens permanently damaged her mentally. She can overcome most of the symptoms, but the scar on her personality remains.
ReplyDeleteThe most interesting thing about that clip is that the Russians have put their biggest hopes on gold in bars (in addition to silver). Valentina Rodionenko says they should get a medal of some sort in the AA (team or individual, she doesn't specify, but I'm sure she believes in both), and that the teams (male and female) should come home with 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 2 bronze medals.
ReplyDeleteAlso, they plan on focusing on the amanar in the month leading up to the games. The team won't be chosen until the Russian cup that will start on the 11th of July.
So how does she stay so thin if she's no longer worrying about foods like potatoes?
ReplyDeleteIngesting fewer or equal amounts of calories that she expends?
