Favorite Things Friday: Aquanet Edition!

There was a time when men were kind, when their voices were soft and the Aquanet was flowing.

The Queen.

The beauty of Shannon Miller's beam work and Peggy Liddick's wrist choreography.

This floor is so wrong, it's right. I know every gesture and so do you.

A beautiful girl with a name for a spelling test.

Bogi never had great hair, but I wouldn't that stare in my direction if I left her out of this post.

God Bless.

Our love.

It is my birthday, so I can post this exhibition as many times as I want.

Paul had some fabulous hair himself.

The hard water and lack of conditioner made times rough for a girl with hair like Lysenko, yet she always managed to look fantastic.

Is it love?  Is it ironic love? Is it nostalgic love?  Who cares. God Bless Nancy and the Scotvolds.

Who had better hair: Jill or Peter?

  1. Happy birthday, AJ! May you enjoy many more years of Aquanetted locks, wrist choreography, scrunchies, Lauren Sheehan-bedazzled skating dresses, and gloriously colorblocked leotards!

  2. Y'all forgot the SHOULDER PADS. Not always too egregious, thanks to the slightness of FS and gymnastics outfits, but they were there on occasion.

  3. Gutsu's form is a mess. She can't dance and has zero presentation. Calling her a Soviet hurts me deeply.

    1. No kidding. And the score of 9.950 is a joke, too. But the scoring throughout that whole era kinda makes me vomit. It's surprising that there were only, what, 2 10's in the Olympics that year?

  4. If Shannon Miller's biggest fault is her wrists and you feel the need to make a huge issue of it than I think Shannon doesn't get enough credit as a gymnast.

    2. He always says something nice while he insults her in the next sentence. He is a Nastia fanatic, he has issues.

    3. You're clearly a bit nuts. He has always been a Miller fan, going back to days on WWGym.

  5. If only Peggy Liddick had decent gymnasts to work with these days.....

  6. Happy birthday from the eye commentator on another day.
THANK YOU for Caryn Kadavy's video. I never saw it. How did she place? Nice to see a woman (not baby ballerina) with speed and strength and not a lot of that arm waving and odd moves like they do now. Love her outfit!! No rear end or cleavage exposed during a comp and even some sleeves so it looks more like a WINTER sport outfit and not bathing suit.

  9. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you must write much more on this topic, it may well not be a taboo subject but typically folks are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
