This and That
Timmy Goebel was interviewed by Lifeskate and the good Catholic boy got his inner math geek on.
Grant Hochstein performed a career best long program at Finlandia to move up to fourth place. He was 2nd in the free skate:
Jonathan Cassar's free skate:
Marlie will be skating on a float in a Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit. It will sweetin the holiday season for all of us and remind us to put down the stuffing in order to stay thin and trim like Meryl Davis.
Since I've been out (and always proud) all day, I have a number of videos to post.

Good for Ksenia for incorporating some spirals into the SP. You may have been seeing visions of Amber Corwin during Dobbs' program, but I flashbacked to Tonya Harding at 92 Worlds, lolz.
ReplyDeleteI really question the sanity of whoever thought it was a good idea for Australia to compete in the CWG so ridiculously close to Worlds. They will be exhausted.
ReplyDeleteThe meet is probably a good thing for Lauren Mitchell. Considering how hard all of the teams are training, it probably isn't too much worse. It could ease up the Aussies' jet lag a tad. This team really needs the experience for next year and the year after. In the long run, they'll qualify for next year's worlds and have benefitted from the additional experience. They're unlikely to medal as a team as is.
ReplyDeleteAustralia's funding for gymnastics is based on results at CWG - if they didn't compete they risked losing funding. Seeing as Aust hardly compete internationally, any experience at all is an absolute necessity regardless of how close to world's it is. Please forgive me but i have to do the obligatory GO AUSSIE GO for world's :)
ReplyDeleteMarlie is skating in a Thanksgiving Day parade in Detroit, not the Macy's parade.
ReplyDeletenothing but mediocrity from the Finlandia girls. I don't expect either up of them to live up to the expectations they created for themselves last year.
ReplyDeleteLauren Mitchell is a really nice gymnast.
ReplyDeleteLauren Mitchell could be Tessa Virtue's sister.
ReplyDeleteLauren's floor is really nice, but boy is that double wolf turn ugly!
