  1. Any early predictions for Tokyo 2011?

Mustafina should enjoy her win now...I think Komova will blow her out of the water in Tokyo. Just sayin'. I think most of the Russian team - despite the win - will be not in Tokyo. Same with Romania, except for Izbasa and of course Porgras.

I expect to see Sacramone and Bross on the next world team, along with Kyla Ross, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber (if she ca avoid injury) and MAYBE Shawn Johnson. I don't think Liukin will be back. I think she has been gone too long and that she isn't willing to give up on "stardom" and meeting celebrities to train. It would be nice to see Shapiro there, but we'd have to keep her under glass for the next year or so.

I don't expect to see Davis, Sloan, Macko or Larson in Tokyo. Raisman...ehhh...maybe. In all honesty, her gymnastics is really nothing special, and she headcased herself right off the AA podium.

  4. I honestly think most of the Romanian team will be the same. A healthy Amelia Racea will replace Patrascu or Dragoi. Iordache isn't a senior until 2012, Bulimar is medicore everywhere but floor(lovely to watch though), so unless she upgrades... Madalena Neagu is beautiful and talented (pretty pretty piked Jaegar), but injured :(

  5. Re: Kyla - From what I understand, 15-year-old girls are eligible for world championship competition in the year BEFORE the Olympics, but must be 16 in other years. Has the rule changed?

  6. I do think that rule has changed re: 15-year olds competing in World's the year prior to Olys.

  7. Event final results for the women were questionable. Mitchell had questionable landings as did Chelaru. Beam...sigh...Pogras had 3 notable errors! I love her but she wobbled on her first move of flexibility (where she holds her leg up). IDK. The judging was very questionable.

  8. the rule has definitely been changed. 15 year olds can no longer compete at pre-olympic worlds.

  9. Bross won beam, in reality. Porgross has nice flexability and people were pulling for her, but she had a lot of errors and one of her lower performances of the games.

Ferarri and Raisman had incredible performances on FX and should have medalled. I know people don't like them, but they did routines better than ever done in training...could tell. they just nailed things. Chelaru and Mustafina got gifted big time. Mitchel should have had a bronze, she got some gifts too. Chelland an Musty did not belong on the stand.

  10. Ferarri has low difficulty, only a 5.5. She did have the highest execution score of the final. Raisman had the second lowest difficulty at 5.7, and the second highest execution.

Those beam scores were all over the place. Wacky.

  11. Despite my love for Mustafina her twisting form needs some work. Also, Lauren's triple spin on floor is awkward and the way she sets up for it is rather. . unfortunate. Totally stops any flow that the routine had going.

  13. Supposedly young girls like that sort of boyish look because it is less sexually threatening.
