Wow Nastia walked around a lot. Surprised to see she could actually do a BHS on beam - rumor was she couldn't even do one on floor a few months ago. She looks the thinnest I've seen her since 08, but I don't know - it sure looks like she doesn't give a shit about competing anymore. I know it's a Craptactular, but that was like her D game she brought. What a waste of a fantastic opportunity to be a total legend last year and this year - she could have gotten quite a few World titles. In '11 and '12 the field won't be so wide open for such easy pickins.
She always brings the D game to the Craptacular. It has nothing to do with her taking real gymnastics seriously, which she may or may not do, who knows. I hope she does though.
Wow, that was pathetic. Other than possibly Kupets, I saw very little actual gymnastics from those girls. All they did was walk around and pose! I honestly would have asked for my money back.
Dear Hollie, all this time I thought you could do no wrong... At least you were slightly more entertaining than Nastia, though that's saying very little.
Just wondering - anyone know how can I sign up to perform as a gymnast in the next Craptacular? It appears that walking and some occasional rubbing of the beam is the only skill necessary to be included, so I think I can do it. Hope you'll all join me!
Disappointing performance for an Olympic Champion. At least Kupets actually threw some skills instead of laly-gagging around waving her arms and posing like Nastia. BLAH
For someone who fancies themselves a performer you would think she'd do something interesting & different. And the faux ballet stuff is plain tired, Nastia. At least take some real ballet classes if you want to keep forcing it down our throats.
Is there something in Nastya's contract that prevents real women gymnasts from being at this joke of an exhibition? A bunch of College gymnasts. Why is this even aired on TV?
To Anon above - Courtney Kupets and Courtney McCool were on the 2004 Olympic team. Hollie Vise is the 2003 co-World Champion on the uneven bars (and Kupets won that title during the previous year). I would consider them "real women gymnasts" based on those credentials (although being a college gymnast is nothing to scoff at, IMHO).
Nastia doesn't select the cast for these shows, Anon 8:24. Shawn was in it the last two years. If I remember correctly, Shawn did zero gymnastics last year, just danced around with the two Hamm's.
I kinda liked Kupets and McCool's performances.
ReplyDeleteHollie's was sorta cute.
Nastia... all of your exhibitions look the same...
Courtney Kupets is very talented. Already out of college and can still do stuff

ReplyDeleteTeam USA may win bronze: best leos Ever, thus far.
ReplyDeleteMost of the gymnasts bring their D games to these shows. I expected more from Vise considering she was still competing last spring.
ReplyDeleteNastia does appear to be in better shape. I'm disappointed that she isn't going for legendary status, but whatever makes her happy.

ReplyDeleteCan McCool just choreograph for UGA??? Please???

ReplyDeleteOh My Gawd !!! I can actually still do everything Nastia did on the beam, and I stopped competing like 15 years ago !! Where's my Olympic medal ??!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Anonymous at 4:56 and 6:11. The people who attended deserve their money back.

ReplyDeleteThey weren't put in this crap because they were former Olympians. They were put in it because fat Nasty doesn't like to share the spotlight
