I don't like the program, Yuna is obviously one of the best skaters ever but I just don't have fun watching her skating for some reason. I don't feel the same kind of heart or joy that is in kwan or asada's skating.
I don't like her skating. I feel that just because she has a god eye-contact with the audience everybody likes her; but she has no real artistry, no transissions, no choreography. She doesn't have any flexibility ande she never seems to care about correcting these mistakes. Everyone is too biased on her and she is too arrogant in person to me. She doesn't want to be a champion, she only likes to be famous.
@ the person who wrote the first two comments (yes, A person lol), throwing in Kwan in there doesn't make you look like a normal figure skating fan. You know what you really are lol
I *loved* this cut of Giselle. They really made it work for a short program - so much so that I almost wished it were a long program. My favorite part of the program: the counter turn after the double axel and everything up to the layback. Yuna doesn't have the extension of a ballerina, but expressively I thought she made that soft section work.
Yu Na Kim's short programs always kick ass; really admire her attack. And she'll prolly look gorgeous competing for gold. And yup, she's a seductress on the ice.
Wonder what in the world she will be wearing? Hope she changes her ending pose as I do not like the one in this practice session. She could barely hold it.
Thank you AJ for uploading. All reactions I read from viewers of Yuna's practice were like these: stunning, amazing, fantastic, superb, perfect etc. So even before watching video clip, I was so thrilled. AND after watching it now, I can't help saying this program is beyond description. To me it's more impresseive than Danse Macabre or 007 Medley. Her skills are clean & perfect as usual, and her artistry is even better than ever. Her step sequences are so fantastic that I feel only ghost (here Giselle, non-human being?) can do such an absolutly beautiful, exquisite , passionate, difficut job. I feel so grateful to Yuna, Olympic Champion, for working so hard. God bless Queen Yuna!
I just saw her short program practice on the universal sports site!!!!!!!! OMG her program is supperbbb. Seriously, her step sequence is the best I've ever seen. I've never seen such speed, dynamic speed, choreography in ladies' short programs... By the way, those ridiculous comments should just be ignored. Why are you throwing out your bullshit here? If you are a Japanese and want to support your skaters, just support yours and leave Yuna alone. It's disgusting. Yuna's fans are just glad she's back with two masterpiece programs.
Her speed is amazing! Ice rink looks too small for her! Her jumps are clean and perfect as usual, and her step sequence is stunning. Wow! She's B.A.C.K!!
Lol obviously i feel that *some* person on this comment feels very anxious watching yuna's new short lol feeling sour?? :-P gosh!! I love this program this is so *EPIC* !!! I've dicided already this is my most favorite short program ever! !!! Her speed is awesome!!.its spurb!!! I think her speed actually got better (of course she was faster than other female skaters even before) like the step sequence its insane! ! So dramatic!! Is it just me or is that ice rink small..?
Troll alert!!! Probably japanese or a "certain" skater's fan Hahahahaha u can already know that this program is maganificent!!! Look how the trolls are appearing lmao.
I dont believe this!!! Her speed into her jumps and also step sequence its so fast that right after i watched giselle run through i watched yuna's dance mascre which used to be my fav. Bfore watching giselle seemed slow... This short program is my ultimate short prograk now wahahahahahah
Speeachless... Yuna always goes beyond my expectation.. OK, from now, I'll stop even thinking about her..otherwise I'll have to stand all night watching this video clip. Please help me!!!
I love this program on Yu-Na. Her movement looks more fluid, expressive, and graceful than ever. LOVE the counter turn after the double axel. If she improved her layback and the position on her y-spin, it would be perfect! She needs better run-out on the 3-3, but who cares for now, wow!
korea money is ruining the beauty of figure skate. korea are always on the podium because of money. i.m fed up with yuna,s childish performance but she is always on the podium.
What are these negativities on Yuna? It's not even funny. or is this another way to express "fear" for her by some haters? because she's so obviously regal and gorgeous and physically ready for the world? I'm just saying, but some of the comments posted here are just too childish and don't make sense to me. Anyways, I'm moving on from these garbage comments here since I don't even have enough time to enjoy Yuna's comeback run through! YAY!
Yuna is truly a one-of-a-kind skater. Yuna's skating transcends figure skating, and her Giselle is a prime example. I am absolutely blown away by this.
If she skates like this (with perfect ending pose), this will not be much of a competition.
silver medal in vancouver should have been Nagasu. she never made mistakes in fs. but asada made two big mistakes in fs. asada robbed silver medal. what a shame!!!!
Thank God we can all take a moment to appreciate a well-crafted, highly anticipated short program without acting crazy. I saw 60 comments and naively thought that maybe we were having interesting conversations about the program. NOPE, Y'ALL ARE FUCKING NUTS.
Mao and Yuna are both great. It's not like one being good precludes the other from being good.
I love that stans take their pissing matches everywhere on the internet to annoy us all. Please go back to your respective forums and cry about whose cheating what and who's two-footing what to people who care. The rest of us don't want every Yuna post to be about Mao and every Mao post to be about Yuna.
Not to start a cat fight but there certainly is a routine that Asada Mao's fans always bring about Yuna Kim:
1) Yuna uses her eyes to flirts with audience/judges (I'm just curious, is performer keeping an eye-contact with audience really mean evil in Japanese culture?? I'm asking this because I have seen numberous Japanese tv show hosts and newspaper articles fussing about Yuna using her eyes)
2)Yuna Kim is too arrogant in person (...and you are a Japanese person who never met Yuna...?)
Since 2007 worlds Japanese media created an "evil" image of Yuna and has been steadily portraying it thru media. They always use pictures from tango de roxanne, danse macabre and 007 james bond sp in which Yuna makes strong facial expressions. On Japanese figure skating tv shows they NEVER EVER EVER show Yuna's lark ascending, gershwin or meditation de thais. I think certain Asada Mao's hardcore fans are in denial that Yuna has beautiful artistry and is perfectly capable of showing her soft, lyrical side. People (rather, I think it's one person) who left comment 1 & 2 are perfect examples of the results of the efforts Japanese media has made past several years. It is so obvious what kind of image japanese media is trying to create of Yuna Kim: that she is nothing but a diva, she is well loved and is arrogant, she is nothing close to a real artist like asada but is merely an actress who seduces her judges and audience only with the use of her eyes.
Am I the only one who notices that neither Mao nor Yuna can consistently/completely point/turn out their toes? I find it really distracting, and although this is a lovely program and this issue is certainly not as egregious without the over-the-boot tights we see in competition, the problem is still evident here (certainly the worst example being that dreadful first layback position). I was pleased to see a bit more attention to landing positions, at least on the second two jumps. And her position as the grand damme of skating and her experience performing has certainly helped her learn to emote more over the years, which is sorely needed in ladies skating these days; I just wish that could be married to all-around excellent positions. Her skating has incredible strengths, but my eye just can't watch it for very long for this reason. Do her big fans see this but feel that these weaknesses are trumped by her strengths (a wholly legitimate position, just not one that I share), or do they not see this the way I do? I have always been curious. Thanks for the footage! I just hope the other gals can at least put up a fight and, of course, that the judging is fair if they do.
I don't think the intense emotion called for in this music completely suits Yu Na (the somewhat cooler emotion of Rhapsody in Blue really was perfect for her), and am not bowled over by the choreography - but I don't see any of her competitors beating this if she skates it clean.
And if she gets the Patrick Chan bonus she won't even have to skate it clean.
Her speed throughout the step squence, ice coverage(improved here with her tremendous speed!), and her jumps(oh yeah as always) are just amazing. I'm just thrilled by her gorgeous expressions of Giselle character along with her technical elements. I doubted at first about her choosing "giselle" for her short since many other skaters already had been tryring to act the character, but nobody really made me impressed. But here, I can tell just by looking at her practice clip, she really nails her aim-integrating jums, step, and spins with her expressions.
Look at the number of comments here! Lovers are sending their cheers for Yuna, Haters are helping Yuna become even more popular(i thought it's not possible though) lol. The most hilarious parts are those stupid equations by haters. Legendary Kween and a skater Asada don't even go with one sentence!
I can't believe all of this racial bullshit tarnishing this beautiful sport. Hope everyone does well . . . personally, I love Yuna, she's an amazing skating who keeps getting better and better, transcends all this political BS. Miki Ando is a lovely girl, but she skates like an awkward duck on ice...Mao Asada peaked too early and never worked on her skating skills because of that triple jump...and is it just me or does she skate like she's bouncing.
Wow...this is the worst thread I ever read. STOP WITH THE STUPID, BRAINLESS ATTACKS ON YUNA AND MAO!!!!! If you all only realized how ignorant you sound! I have never seen anything like it. Yuna and Mao are both beautiful in their own way. Each offers something different to figure skating. Whoever skates best on the day in question will probably win, unless the unbelievable inflation of Miki Ando's scores continues.
There are so many ugly comments on this. Obviously first two comments were ugly and then it bothered others first. Like seriously how does the second comment know that yuna is ignorant? Do u honestly know yuna in person?? How do u know that yuna only wants to be only famous not a chapmion? In case u dont realize yuna is already famous and she is already successful in fs career. I can only say that they are feeling sour and bitter cuz yuna is in great condition right now.
At least 60 out of 90 comments seem to have come from the same person! He/She even copy and reuses the comment only by chenging the skater's name to make fake conversation. If not, how same and controled the K*****s mind! They must have the greatest cloning technology in the world.
Althou i saw all the ladies programs this season, i don't remember any sp,lp except Flatt's step sequence in her new sp. but i memorised YUNA'S SP already cos i watched her practice clips thousands time. Still can't stop watching it. JUST STUNNING!!!
Hey, Asada fan up there! Yeah, you moron! As a huge fan of kwan, I feel really really distrubed and insulted by your ridiculus comments. Are you comparing that whiney Japanese skater to the legendary Qwan? I don't know what you're up to with these comments and I don't even care. But stay Qwan out of it. Alright?
Keep up the good work yuna! The practice assures me that it is going to be my favorite sp in this season among all other ladies' programs. I mean her short programs have been always my favorite over other ladies' ones for three seasons in a row. The real ladies competition is coming for the first time in this season.
An another heart-attacking, breath-taking, eye-opening and mind-blowing short program in a cardiovascualr-sensory neuron way. Ok. I'm majoring in medicine. I would need to take aspirin every night until the real competition. Well, I'm not joking LOL.
April 25, 2011 6:19 PM /// LOL You're talking like you don't know the controlled the J******es. it's good not to know their lan. I bet they are the top of it when it comes to the topic u r talking about. :-)
"The enmity between South Korea and Japan runs long and deep. This week, the combatants wear sequins.
Olympic champion Yu-Na Kim of South Korea vs. world champion Mao Asada of Japan.
Anyone who has ventured into a figure skating chatroom in advance of the world figure skating championships knows there’s no love lost between fans in the Kim and Asada camps. It’s been downright nasty and it’s clearly about more than sport.
The fervent nationalism has boiled over to the point where the greatest sin a Japanese figure skating reporter can commit is writing anything slightly favourable about Kim. One veteran Japanese journalist says she’s been bombarded with hate messages from Asada supporters."
I enjoy the friendly competition between Mao and Yu-Na and wish their two countries' fans would enjoy it too and stop with the immature political crap. Good luck to both Yu-Na and Mao! Both of them are great skaters with their own strengths and weaknesses, and they seem like nice girls!
Whatever happens, I think the best would be for Yuna to win this and ride off into the sunset. For herself, her fans, and for her enemies. In fact, I think the Japanese wouldn't mind if she won- Mao is still a work in progress(tho she's getting there) and her goal is Sochi. Miki has other things on her mind, Kanako is not championship material yet. So if Yuna wins and she leaves forever, the Japanese will politely applaud her, the fan wars will stop, and we can all get some sanity back- pheww!
Since Yuna has won an Olympic Gold Medal, seems like she'll finally be able to skate for herself and really enjoy it. Where as before the Vancouver Olympics, every competition was for her goal to reach to the Vancouver Olympics and place a medal. I hope that she can just enjoy herself and skate for herself and fans. She's already accomplished what she's wanted.
I am very enjoyed for this blog. Its an informative topic. It help me very much to solve some problems. Its opportunity are so fantastic and working style so speedy. cadastro unick

Comment April 24, 2011 9:55 PM and comment April 24, 2011 10:06 PM are ugly and twisted.
ReplyDeleteWhat's ugly is when you can't have an opinion on here when it comes to 'certain' skaters, but it's totally fine with others.
ReplyDeleteThat is the shortest program in this season.
ReplyDeleteShe is unbelievable. :C
I dont believe this!!! Her speed into her jumps and also step sequence its so fast that right after i watched giselle run through i watched yuna's dance mascre which used to be my fav. Bfore watching giselle seemed slow...

Are you comparing that whiney Japanese skater to the legendary Qwan? I don't know what you're up to with these comments and I don't even care. But stay Qwan out of it. Alright?
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work yuna! The practice assures me that it is going to be my favorite sp in this season among all other ladies' programs. I mean her short programs have been always my favorite over other ladies' ones for three seasons in a row. The real ladies competition is coming for the first time in this season.
ReplyDeleteAn another heart-attacking, breath-taking, eye-opening and mind-blowing short program in a cardiovascualr-sensory neuron way. Ok. I'm majoring in medicine. I would need to take aspirin every night until the real competition. Well, I'm not joking LOL.
ReplyDeleteGo Yu-Na!!!

ReplyDelete"The enmity between South Korea and Japan runs long and deep.
Maobot always jerk around...no surprised
I enjoy the friendly competition between Mao and Yu-Na and wish their two countries' fans would enjoy it too and stop with the immature political crap. Good luck to both Yu-Na and Mao! Both of them are great skaters with their own strengths and weaknesses, and they seem like nice girls!
ReplyDeleteWhatever happens, I think the best would be for Yuna to win this and ride off into the sunset.
ReplyDeletePEOPLE JUST CUT IT OUT PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteFor two seconds just forget the dumb politics and country hatred toward each other and JUST ENJOY THE SKATING.
I can't wait. *^^*
ReplyDeleteCan someone post the Universal video on Youtube? Silverlight is giving my problems.
ReplyDeleteOh, and 90% of comments on Yuna threads are trolls trolling trolls trolling trolls.
Wow, more than 100 comments!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy Yuna's back.
Go, Yuna!!!
Shame on you,maobot.
ReplyDeleteSince Yuna has won an Olympic Gold Medal, seems like she'll finally be able to skate for herself and really enjoy it. Where as before the Vancouver Olympics, every competition was for her goal to reach to the Vancouver Olympics and place a medal. I hope that she can just enjoy herself and skate for herself and fans. She's already accomplished what she's wanted.
ReplyDeleteThis sponsor is almost Korean large companies.
ReplyDeleteKorean's last object is always just win to Japanese.
Korean back hander all over the nation would be too huge in last Olympic.
Just for win to Mao Asada, always won to Yuna Kim.
