This and That
Nicole Bobek at Skate for Love
Marlie gave a press conference where they told us OTAPAWJ and 'We feel more prepared with the extra time.' They also lied and said they aren't thinking about winning, even though they've mentioned wanting to win Worlds all season long.
Alicia Sacramone debuted her new floor routine at camp. Sadly, there is no thigh rubbing.
Amanda Jetter on the Italy Assignment. Sadly, she wasn't asked about the rampant speculation that she is just apparently a body on National Team/a pawn to get others to work harder and be there in care 20 people break. Amelia, Lexi and Amanda all qualified to championships based on their scores at camp. Shawn Johnson may need to qualify to championships the same way. Listen to her comment about not expecting to be injured---you have to time your injuries correctly at the elite level.
Kayla Williams before the Region 5 Level 9/10 Championships. Kayla finished 2nd AA, yet sometimes finished 1st on bars and floor and only 3rd on vault. Sadly, gymnastike hasn't posted any of the routines people are actually curious about.
Jessica Peszek qualified for JOs as a Junior C (5th AA.)
Sarah Patterson on the Crimson Tide's 2011 NCAA Season
Kayla Hoffman on the NCAA Championships
Anna Li earned her SAG card for being the ninja stunt double in the latest two Honda Civic commercials.

Thoughts on her comment that Amelia would have qualified to Italy if she was on National Team?!
ReplyDeleteAnd Gymnastike wasn't at Region 5 Regionals...they covered NCAA last weekend.
One of the Gymnastike contributors was at NCAA Regionals and videotaped part of it. He also coaches. There are videos posted.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies. I stand corrected.
ReplyDeleteotapawj? forgive me but what does it stand for?

ReplyDeleteSometimes it's not about talent, but about LUCK. Especially in the 9.8 versus 9.9 battles, full of watered down difficulty and watered down execution. Really hate how female gym takes these athletes and completely GUTS the best bart of gym (learning new skills). They should man up and use the FIG code.
ReplyDeleteI completely disagree. Since the open scoring era, NCAA has provided an alternative to big trick bad form FIG gymnastics. I appreciate college gym so much more now. Granted there are some areas that need to be revamped ie double tucks off bars and lso+full dismounts of beam, but overall, the level is good.
ReplyDeleteChelsie's twitter said that Skyler qualified to JOs too. Any idea where she placed / what division?

ReplyDeleteYou obviously know nothing about gymnastics. Look at any elite competitor and then tell me which one has consistently hit and produced flawless routines. At NCAA Bama was absolutely flawless and couldn't have done it any better. Why don't you "man up" and actually put up who you really are.
Do you think the constant injuries of the CGA girls has anything to do with them being not all that bright??
ReplyDeletefunny how an anon told another anon to "man up" and reveal real identity
ReplyDeleteI hate how anne always asked "so, take me through your meet, take me through you career". I will she'd ask specific questions
ReplyDeletewas nastia at camp?
ReplyDeletenastia was speaking in penn yesterday, so no.
ReplyDeleteRaise your hand if you think Nastia is 100 percent DONE. With all the traveling she's still doing and the fact she still isn't at camp is very telling. Does she still think she's fooling anyone?
ReplyDeleteShe's fooling Aunt Joyce
ReplyDeleteNastia was at camp as the athlete rep and then went to UPenn.
ReplyDeleteAny info on Alicia's floor other than that it exists?
ReplyDeleteBut no one cares if she is at camp if she isn't there as camper/gymnast.
ReplyDeleteFind it interesting that Amelia qualified for visas at camp when she is not a national team member...supposedly the only qualification for these non team members is either of the classic competitions. Another case in point that it depends on who you are and where you train if the rules apply or not! :/
