Bitch Face of the Day

These Olympics have served as confirmation about what high-strung perfectionists feel about second place. Sui Lu's reaction mirror our own as we watched her get royally screwed out of Olympic Gold. It is always fantastic to watch how someone truly feels about winning the silver.

  1. Just tragic. She was completely screwed.

  3. I get that they're just little girls, but am I bad to want to give Sui Lu a swift kick in the ass?

    1. Really though, aren't they 'suppose' to be 16 (*wink*wink*)? The little one looks to be about 11. But it's China so...

  5. Classic bitch face requirements:
    1) skills
    2) beauty
    3) pout
    4) medal whip off

  6. I must say this is the first time I've seen a "family" country (russia, china, romania) cry when they go 1,2, regardless of who's in front.

Then again I'm sure if Nabieva had gone ahead of Komova last year taking gold instead of silver in bars there would have been tears.

    1. Nabieva probably would have punched the shit out of Komova for that. That's one gymnast that looks like she's always ready to throw down. She reminds me of Produnova in that way.

Like when Zamo didn't make AA finals in Sydney (initially) Prod had this "who gives a shit about you, deal with it" look on her face. It was incredible. Nevermind her face throughout her entire BB EF routine where she made the apparatus her bitch.

  7. I wouldn't call that a "bitch face" she looks exactly the same as she did when she won the gold last year in beam

  8. Good for SuiLu! She probably thought "everyone else is doing it, why can't I"

    1. In my opinion...Komova/Lu/and Maroney should all take a long road trip together and make a movie out of it....talk about entertaining!!!

    2. I like the movie idea. We could call it The Sisterhood of the Traveling Leotards.

    3. Not a bad idea

  9. I feel extra bad for Sui since she actually delivered for China in team finals, whereas Deng fell off beam and was generally mediocre elsewhere.

    1. Not to mention Deng is already an Olympic gold medalist from Beijing. I'm not saying that Sui Lu acted appropriate...but I totally understand why she's upset...she is the most consistent girl on the team...and the one who fell off beam in team finals just won the gold on her by 1 tenth. I wonder if Sui Lu and Deng Linlin are roomates in London? Deng better sleep with one eye open if that's the case lol.

  10. Deng's face seems very punchable. I'm sure Sui agrees.

  11. How does a performance like Sui Lu's get silver the same as Maroney who vaulted to her ass? Bitch was definitely robbed, I don't care if she had the balance check on the back pike, bitch has style, more than Deng Linlin can say.

Also love that a Chinese gymnast is happy to pout and rip off her medal, I didn't think it was possible for me to love Sui Lu more than I did, but I do.

    1. Deng Linlin had two small, but perceptible wobbles, whereas Sui Lu had the step back on the back pike. Then, they had the same low landing and small step on the dismount. But everywhere else, including rhythm, choreography, phasing, Sui blows Deng out of the water. Boo.

  12. Sui Lu is def the new diva of gymnastics.

Found this translated quote from her during the team finals when asked my she didn't cry when the team placed fourth:

"...besides, if I cry, I will mess up my make-up."

  13. I fucking love Sui Lu. So gutted for her. Deng the fetus screwed her (and the team) up when she fell in team finals, and now she screwed her up again. Sui Lu hit in TF and hit EF going up first and built a great platform for her teammate's (now her enemy's) score.

I bet she's looking for Deng Linlin's real birth certificate to prove Deng is still underage in 2012. Then the IOC will strip Deng of the gold and it will go to Sui Lu. Yay.

She and Mustafina are so alike sometimes. Extremely stoic, calm, determined, and bitchy. Sui Lu once stormed out of the gym mid-training. She'll go far in life.

    1. Come on, enough with the underage crap. It's tiresome. Wasn't Deng Linlin in a documentary back in 2002, looking about the same as she does now? My 32 year old Chinese friend looks about as old as Deng Linlin does. Whatever.

    2. Ummmm, even if (and I do mean if) she was underage back in 08 there's no way she would be underage now. Some people believe she was only 14 in 2008 which would make her 18 at the very youngest.

I'm a 30 year old Asian and I still get carded at the movies. Haters are just jealous because we have good genes. :)

    3. She is a bit like Mustafina. I love this picture of her. It looks like she's saying "Look at me b**ches!"

  14. And I love how Aly and DLL are holding up their medals for the photo and Sui Lu is holding up her flowers. She prefers flowers to Olympic silvers.

  15. WELL...I LOVE DENG LINLIN! I get it that Sui Lu was the most consistent girl in the Chinese team at this Olympics... but hey DENG was the most consistent one in the Beijing Olympics.. regardless of her age and she didn't make it to beam finals... Cheng Fei did... and come on ppl Deng has OBVIOUSLY grown since then.. she's struggled with injuries too (fell of bars), didn't make the worlds team in 2011, but came back to win the AA at the Chinese Nationals this year! YES she fell in the team competition (even the great Cheng Fei has fallen before and Sacramone was so unfortunate in Beijing) but boy did she come back at the ef. Deng deserved this gold :)

  16. Sui Lu could have had a little bit more grace and btw Deng's routine had a higher difficulty than Sui Lu... just saying!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Deng's routine had a tenth higher in difficulty, which is fine. But they had the same execution score. What?? Deng had more wobbles, the same step/low landing as Sui, and her piked Korbut has a poor pike, not to mention she had a lot of rhythm breaks, poorer quality of movement, and barely attempts choreography. Deng was great - greater than six others - but did not deserve gold.

      Delete
    2. Deng had poor quality of movement? really? I guess its a matter of preference....

  17. If you want to talk about Deng Linlin's size, why don't you read this article where former world beam champion talks about the food that she was allowed to eat since she became 'STATE PROPERTY' http://sports.yahoo.com/news/state-property-memoirs-top-chinese-gymnast-043837245--spt.html;_ylt=A2KJjbxqaiJQlx4AzmjQtDMD

  18. the article above is about Fan Ye btw

  19. LOVE Sui Lu! (She's basically the only current Chinese gymnast I can stomach). I said before EF that if everyone hits it's Sui's to lose. I haven't seen such a good medal rip off since 2000 TF. Does anyone know if she's sticking around?

    ReplyDelete
  20. If she doesn't like her score, maybe she should take up a sport that's less subjective - like running.

All of these whiny gymnastic brats, with their tears and scowls and podium tantrums, are embarrassments to their countries. And I'm tired of the media using their youth as an excuse - at only 17 years old, Michelle Kwan was one of the most gracious competitors in defeat (despite the fact that, on her best days, her performances were FAR MORE MEMORABLE than anything the so-called gold medalists produced).

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sui Lu was definitely robbed, and I feel so bad for her. As she was the first to perform, her coaches had her do the 6.5 difficulty instead of a 6.7 one. Her sheep jump was also better than DLLs. She is more elegant, more graceful and has more style than DLL ever will. Such a shame, she was the only Chinese gymnast who looked up for it in the qualifications and the TFs and DLL screws her up again. I really hope she'll make it to Rio 2016.

  22. People who BITCH about the Chinese gymnasts' age and size should read this. Its an interview of Li Shanshan who was on the Beijing team. You would realise how poor these kids are and the struggles they go through in life and why they becpme gymnasts and how they become champions AND at what consequence!!
