The one good thing about Sheryl Shade whoring Shawn Johnson out like a prized cow is that she is actually required to be in the gym for some of her interviews. If they keep this up, she may have her beam routine down for Nationals. I hope Andrea Joyce allows her to sufficiently plug her book when she scratches floor.
Sandra Raluca Izbasa wants gold on floor. Vault is just her back up. Larisa Iordache will have something to say about that.
I spoke with Taylor Toth about her new partnership with Kiri Baga. He says they currently do side-by-side Triple Toes and Triple Salchows. They plan to do two SBS triples by Nationals but will be at a disadvantage at the summer competitions because they have to do three more pair tests before they can properly train and plan their programs for their summer debut. Their coach is working with them this week before Kiri finishes school for the year and moves to Chicago. They have worked a Throw Triple Salchow, but they are waiting for the big move to work the bigger throws and the twist. Kiri and Taylor are working diligently and are optimistic about their future. Both have similar abilities in terms of skating skills, which makes it easier to match on the ice. Kiri is quite the consistent jumper, which is helping them tremendously. I personally cannot wait to see her lift positions. Taylor has let it be known that Kiri has quite a fun personality that we all need to get to know a bit better.
I die for Nastia's outfit. You see Nastia, I like you better when you're thinner. I would like to applaud you for skipping that third piece of sushi per day. You've taught me that when I get rid of an awful weird and ignore the pain of hunger, anything is possible...especially when you have someone to hate.
Chellsie Memmel working out amidst her 10,000th comeback from injury. I believe Chellsie can stay healthy through camp about as much as I believe in Romney's latest apology or Kelly Clarkson being a heterosexual. That said, she is a fiercely impressive bitch.
Maroney and Vega in an ad. Zooming in is required, as it should be for the future alternate. Maroney deserves more attention for her diva personality. Frankly, I like it even better than her block off the horse.
Aly Raisman is in Vogue. Miracles never fucking cease. Anna Wintour must've gone out to lunch that day and consumed calories. Or else one of Aly's relatives met a truly high-powered fashion Jew at sleep-away camp who owed them ONE HELL of a favor. Either way, kudos.
Aly showing toe point. Air brushing technology really is amazing.
Counting out Chellsie Memmel is about as futile as giving the last rites to Romania as so many did up until Euros. Chellsie doesn't know how to do a half assed comeback. Sure, it doesn't seem like team USA needs her with its current talent crop, but if Chellsie starts throwing up 15's on bars and beam at nats. and trials and few others can't hold up(Nastia, Douglas, Bross), she has a shot.
ReplyDeleteThey could've at least airbrushed Aly into a full split.
ReplyDeleteChellsie's comeback won't be half assed, no, but her body can't take it anymore. And even if it can, memories of her shoulder getting injured mid way through more than one competition will no doubt loom large in Marta's mind.
What is an "awful weird"?
ReplyDeleteLMAO all the Raisman stuff
ReplyDeleteCan I just say it only looks like Aly is able to point her toes one foot at a time? I'm seeing shades of the Clubfoot we know and love in that second picture.
ReplyDeleteThat said, congrats for making Vogue. That alone is impressive. Can she get the same hair stylist for the competitions. Aly is a really pretty girl but in competitions there's just so much frizz!
Nastia looks fantastic. I have hope!
