All That Skate Spring

I couldn't resist this!  (I must say, it isn't the same level of excitement without Michelle Kwan.)

  10. no jump in fever?
Yuna still is in ankle injury?

  11. @May 7, 2011 1:16 AM
    Yes, she is.

“I arrived in Korea on the 2nd. I took the morning off to rest and then went to the hospital to get medical attention,” answered Kim when asked about her ankle pain that started during the World Championships.
    http://www.feverskating.com/fevers/52895381

Due to an ankle injury, she didn't perform any jumps in fever and did two double axels in giselle.

  13. Yuna Kim is such an unartistic and inelegant skater. It's like watching mens figure skating - good jumps but ugly positions.

  15. Anonymous May 7, 2011 5:59 AM is such an unimaginative and lazy hater. Spewing the same old copy and paste sh*t on multiple Yuna threads. It is like watching 6 years old girl - good at crying but sissy fits.

Are you incapable of actually defending Yuna and her skating style? Obviously, because you just prefer to viciously (and often racially) attack those who find any fault with her at all. I think that makes you the lazy one - try thinking for yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous May 7, 2011 6:39 AM, typical profile of a mindless drone bringing race issue into something as beautiful as this noble sport. It is one thing to dislike someone's skating but making blanket statement like these makes you the biggest hypocrite of them all. Carry on your hating campaign, but do us a favour, come up with something new and less transparent.

  18. So hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never seen any ladies single skater move like that with every bit of music!
    It's like Beyonce on ice!

  19. I didn't even notice there was any jump in Fever even though I have been playing this clip over 100 times...Oh wow, now I am comvinced by Yuna and her Fever that figure skating can be exciting and mesmerizing w/o any jump. (Oh, well, for Dance, there are lifts.)

  21. I never made any comments about race. But in the other post, there are tons of Yuna Kim fans attacking "the japs", blaming Asada and Ando for what happened in the 1930s, some even gloating about the recent nuclear disaster, complaining about "Jap money", etc. I never made any blanket statements - it is you who are doing that.

It should be ok to criticize Yuna without being attacked for doing so or being accused of being a "hater", and sometimes racially so!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I feel sorry for Aunt Joyce. He's not the one spouting racist comments. It's not fair that his blog might get shut down because people from both camps deliberately bait the other side with incendiary statements.

I hope fans of both skaters--actually, fans of all stripes, come to think of it--will have the decency to take their 'debate' elsewhere. There are forums for this type of thing. Or, if you like, set up your own blog where you can say anything you like. Take all comers there, and please leave the rest of us skatenastics fans in peace.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can we please just set up a separate blog for the Mao & Yuna bots? Just post a program every week and let them open fire on each other. CHEATING AND DIRTY MONEY AND POLITICKING AND RANDOM GENERALIZATION ABOUT AN ENTIRE COUNTRY VARIOUS OTHER INDEFENSIBLE THINGS RAH RAH RAH sorry bots you're too predictable.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well, as someone who doesn't care for neither Mao nor Yuna, I can say the other thread allowed me to see which side the inflammatory fans align with. Yuna's crazy fans win by a mile, their hate speech, racist POV, and gloating over Japanese disaster victims turn me off completely to Yuna's skating. I was impartial before, but now I can't watch Yuna's skating without connecting her to her hateful fans who attack anyone who even dare to criticize her skating.

I've been watching skating for over 20 years, and really I've not seen such viciousness on the part of fans like now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ok Ok the other thread includes racial comments. But why do you guys start talking about racial ones again?

For 2008-2010 seasons, I've seen a lot of unfair clips made by Yuna haters on Youtube. The youtube clips were unbelievably racial, cruel and distorted. Yuna fans seem to be sensitive, easy to be upset, likely to mention "Japan...." because most of the ugly clips were made in Japan. Obviously, if the clips considered, the first that started racial attack was maobots.

However, seriously, Yuna fans, don't give a clue maobots to be criticized like this. You don't need to be at the same level with those who made ugly clips. This article is just an introduction of a fantastic ice show.
See what you've done! This article is turning out to be a complaining board by upset other fans, including maobots.

    ReplyDelete
  26. What's up with the uber serious/negative comments above...? It's only a figure skating; just enjoy it or walk away. Why the hate? Go Yuna! The new program is so HAWT.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Love the show, love the programs, love Fever. All the skaters worked hard and they deserve the success. The crowd seems really enjoying it and I am looking forward to the broadcast.

It is tragic however to see so many comments here has nothing to do with the show. except continuing to accuse and bait for racist remarks when there are none. We should just ignore these attention seeking victim playing trolls.

If you don't like the show, don't watch, just leave. Simple.

    ReplyDelete
  28. wow that was fast. Worlds just ended last week. What a crazy rush for the skaters to rehearse and travel to Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "Obviously, if the clips considered, the first that started racial attack was maobots."

Why should those clips be considered? Do you believe that those who criticized Yuna in this thread and the other were responsible for them? Do you have any proof?

All I saw in the other thread were people expressing their opinions on Yuna's dress, her single jumps, her skating style. It's rather unfair for you and others to characterize them as "Maobots." There are many (including me) who are not diehard fans of Mao Asada. Why can we not express our opinion of Yuna Kim?

If it's fine for her fans to post gushing, adoring comments about how her program should have won, that her dress is the best thing in the world, etc, etc, why is it not permissible for those who disagree to say so? Why do the obsessive Yuna fans (hopefully not all Yuna fans) start screeching about Japanese war atrocities, gloat over the earthquake disaster, and call anyone who finds even the slightest fault with Yuna a a "Maobot"?

It IS racist. It bothered me, and I'm not even Japanese. These type of fans do not do Yuna any credit. They need to realize that others have different opinions about Yuna Kim's skating and programs and respect their right to express these negative opinions, even if they disagree. You should disagree through debate, not by racist and personal attacks.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think Yuna put too much emphasis on the acting part. Yes, very sexy. I'd like to see more grace moves, such as spiral, ina bauer, hydroblade, spread eagle etc incorporated in the program rather than lots of upperbody twisting and arms twirling. After all She is an Olympic champion and role model, lots of young girls are looking up to her. I don't think I'd want to show this program to my daughter, not much for her to leran from it.

  31. Anonymous May 7, 2011 3:56 PM

Oh please! This compulsive impulsive behavior by the few wanting to drag this onto the new thread looking for trouble is getting a bit ridiculous and laughable.

Don't you have anything better to do than provoke more reactions on threads that has not been spoilt by you? It is clear as night and day who are the obsessively ones trolling these threads looking for a fight.

Racist remarks is wrong. The tactic to drag this further to justify provocation is also wrong. Trollers guilty of this are insecure individuals desperate in need of help. Or they should try some exercise to get rid of these repressed feelings. Here is not the place to do it. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  32. May 7, 2011 4:33 PM

And how exactly is my response trolling when I am calling for restraint and no more racist remarks? It is very sad if you believe that is looking for a fight. Do you really believe that any criticism of Yuna, and any statements arguing that we should be allowed to criticize Yuna, are "trolling for a fight"? If you do, you are the insecure one.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Judging by this dance, we now know that Yuna could earn a lucrative living pole dancing if the figure skating gig ends.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yuna's Fever costume, makeup, choreograph, and her skating make her look so cheap. I do appreciate her trying to look sexy but sorry, I need to go throw up first. What happened to her skating skills? They all went down the drain.

  40. Really, there isn't one side here that is more to blame. I have to chuckle at anyone who claims that Yuna's fans or Mao's fans started the attacks first or do them worse. Puh-lease. In Mao posts, Yuna fans show up to make absurd comments; and in Yuna posts, Mao's fans show up and do the same thing. No side started anything. They have been pinned against each other since they started competing internationally, and it has engendered a lot of really strong feelings in South Korea and Japan. No side in particular started anything. This is the culmination of many years of elevated competition. Ubers on both sides are disgraceful.

I just wanted to clarify this. Let's not give one side a pass because, really, neither deserves it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. All I am going to say is this, See Evil Hear Evil.
Given this is a Yuna thread about her show, and her fans has been graciously enough to not retort these latest outrageous provocative trolling attacking her, let's just leave it to that.

Anyone taking the high ground under anonymity or false pretence, you only got your own conscious to face at the end of the day. When all has been said and done, this is a wonderful celebration of skating with some world class skaters and it is really entertaining to watch.

Even without Michelle! (May be in a few months in LA? She'd be graduated by then)

  42. Last year, Brian Joubert said,

    -What made you rebound then?

"Skating exhibitions last summer in Korea was a great boost for me, something completely unique. You have to live it by yourself.
I do not think there is one other place on earth where you can live the same thing.
Even when I skate at home in France, it is not the same.
The show Yu-Na Kim produced was just unique, one dimension higher than everywhere else.
The audience was special. The atmosphere was special, we even had fireworks.
Even the way I was taken in charge was special: I was offered to travel first class!
Once I was there, I got the feeling that Iwas like a pop star.
I must admit that I felt really good. I really wanted to skate well throughout.
It boosted me tremendously and helped me come back this season.
Such events give you the will to keep going and get results. If you do not have results, you are not invited there anymore!"

And Jeremy abbott said tonight, "Adele was fantastic tonight!!! :))) I want to live on the ice in front of this amazing audience for all my life!!!"

The show seems to be very special.
    Nice to see that.
    Thanks, AJ.

  43. Today I went there!! It was fantastic!!

I'm a fan of Yuna, and also like Czisny, Shen Zao and Jeremy Abbott.(And Mao Asada too!)
This was my first ice show with yuna. I bought ticket just yesterday night after I see 'fever' on the internet! (Actually I decided not to go because it's quiet expensive to me. The cheapest seat was about $40)

Oh it was amazing! I will go whenever there is a show from now.
My favorite things were Lambiel's and Kulik's. I've never felt they were cool but today they were really cool. Before I knew it I was shouting to Lambiel. It was like a rock concert. They also looked so happy and excited. I can't forget Kulik's face when he was over. ^^
Jeremy, alissa and yuna was also great. Shen Zao's Turandot, of course. At the finale, it felt like a club. All people stand up and danced with skaters. So fun. It was great show ^^

  50. Q : Why have many dirty attackers with evil intention been rushing to this blog and posting lots of shits whenever Aunt Joyce has uploaded video clips of Yuna Kim's performances?

A : Just because they cannot endure the fact that Yuna Kim gets most spotlights in the world of figure skating; they cannot accept the situation that the skaters they support are simply ignored thanks to the lack of artistry. (Who are the skaters? We all know well; neither American skaters nor European skaters... so I even don't have to mention it.)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Those dirty attackers should find that their dirty trolling shits have harmed severely the reputations of the skaters they support. But if they had the brains to find the fact, they would not repeat their trolling. (Who are the skaters? We all know well; neither American skaters nor European skaters. They are... well, I even don't have to mention it.)

  57. AJ - If you're not going to monitor your blog and just let it fill up with asinine comments, you should take it down until you have time to deal with it. Sometimes I think you shouldn't have started this if you can't be professional and maintain it. Tsk tsk.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hey~ You don't have to be "professional" to "maintain" a blog! LOL Is this a commercial blog? Guess NOT! AJ just showed a link to an ice show. Do you want him to give up his living instead pay more attention to this blog which is just for a hobby? You don't have an authority to order him to do something~ Man the selections of words and phrase make me laugh!

    ReplyDelete
  59. As a web manager of a popular fansite (not commercial), I really don't like jerks who preach me to do something. And I'm upset when the same things happen on my favorite spots. It's really cumbersome to monitor and filter spams and ugly messages. Just removing some messages takes more than couple of hrs and that threatened my working & sleeping schedule. If you don't have the authority or help him, don't be bossy.

  60. I see a dragon in Yuna's costume - the right half of it is obviously its body, glittering spangles or crystals of many colors (blue, red, purple, etc) are its scales, and her hairpiece is its head. Plus, there's also dragons on the left wrist of her costume. I'm so in love with her costume, not to mention the program itself. Bloody HAWT!!!!!!!!!!
