The Most Beautiful Gymnast Returns

It is a crying shame that Livchikova won't be in London this summer.  It it amazing how quickly and how well Mariya has returned from her knee injury.

  1. i am amazed that two of the passes she does on floor seem to be notorious for blowing out knees. Very strange that she looks this strong.

  2. There's no pressure of saving herself for the Olympics. She's giving it her all, no baggage like Aliya. That's why she is doing so well. If she was going to London I'm sure we would have seen some meltdown .

  3. Why isn't she eligible for London?

  6. Despite the obvious mistakes, her beam connections are so unique & I really like them a lot!

  7. It's a shame she fell twice on beam. She has the BEST connections of this entire quad. I almost forgot what it was like seeing skills actually connected like they used to be back in the day...

  8. She won't be in London because:

    - Ukraine didn't qualify a full team
    - They finished 19th at worlds, allowing them to send 2 gymnasts to the test event and 1 gymnast to London
    - The gymnast they send to London has to be one of the ones who was at the Test Event. Livchikova was still injured then and didn't compete.
    - If Ukraine choose not to send either of their eligible athletes, Kononenko or Kysla, they lose the spot.

  10. Beautiful. It's really a shame about her falls on the beam, because the rest of the routine is gorgeous. Love the floor routine, too.

  11. Very much agree with the poster about the unique beam connections - random question though - does anyone know which gymnast is using the "Jesus Christ Superstar" medley for floor music, which was playing during that beam routine? 70s rock opera music FTW!
