Happy New Year

Two of our favorite things to warm our hearts heading into 2012.  Tara looked radiant on the Today Show and is preparing to teach us all how to skate with effortless speed in a beaded dress while expressing the music of Beyonce at her skating camp this summer.  It is amazing what she could pull off when a two-hour public session was momentarily cleared for her Today Show performance.  Notice how the ice has been to hell and back.  In true Tara fashion, her warm up speed caused gusts of wind requiring major amounts of hairspray.   Video credit goes to WestPalmBitch, who is an invaluable videographer of skating.  Lord knows my hands get the shakes and we'd all be sea sick if I did any filming sans tripod.

And of course, THE comeback of the year:

  1. Oh, come on, Aunt Joyce. Tara didn't do a single jump! How hard is that?

  2. I love people who don't understand skating and think that jumping is the only thing that matters. At any rate, she hasn't been skating often lately and can still jump. Tara is a perfectionist and doesn't want to do doubles on a tiny rink like that. She is a triples or nothing type gal.

  3. On the contrary, only people who understand skating know how much jump matters. Her spin was a little wobbling and slow, her spiral was the easiest version, and she didn't put any grace moves such as Ina Bauer, hydro-blade in. It doesn't seem to me that she worked hard on this number.

  4. If you notice, Tara was skating on ice that wasn't cleaned after a two hour public session at Christmas time. She was lucky she moved at all. I took videos of her practicing before the session where you can really appreciate her speed.

  5. I've been very impressed with her last few programs, as she choreographs them herself and puts a lot of energy into the choreography. Her feeling for music has really developed over the years.

  6. Is Nastia using Tosca for her floor music? I hope so.

  7. Oh come on, that is the smallest rink ever! Two strokes and you are down at the other end!

  8. Nastia looks really pretty.

  9. Considering Nastia and AJ have gone to dinner, I don't think he needs to kiss her ass to get her to tweet him. Troll.

  10. He's a recent Tara fan now and I'll leave it at that. Signing off.

  12. You can't really blame how she has skated on the lack of ice resurfacing. If you take a look at how Kwan skated on a crappy mall plastic ice rink in Australia, you'll see what I mean. Tara was a good skater, but she always needed those jumps.

  13. I give credit to Tara for still getting out there on the ice and skating in public. Over the years I've tried to like her skating. But she is still meh. I found the program boring in the extreme. It looks like a retread of her previous exhibitions. (I only comment on the choreography b/c it was mentioned that she choreographs them herself.)

  14. Nastia makes fun of AJ behind his back. I have heard her do it. He is playing the fool.

Now Nastia knows he won't say anything negative about her. She wins.

Now that we known they had dinner I guess that proves me right.

AJ is a sell out and he isn't even man enough to defend himself because he knows he cannot.

Keep defending yourself under anon tho because it is fucking hilarious just how stupid you are.

He can't even see he is being manipulated.

  15. Are we going to go over the many ways he kisses ass to whomever will pay attention to him each time he posts about Nastia and/or Tara?

It's old news, who cares, he still does it, now that he's a skater he knows everything, he's not stopping, yadda yadda yadda. Moving onnnnnn
