  1. Valeri has another star on his hands. It must be fun for him to have one top girlie each quad.

  2. But I don't want to jump the gun here... She's still a baby and could grow to 5'5" for all we know and lose all her hard skills by the time the next quad even gets here, but for now, wow!

  3. On the above note, is there anyone to watch in Katelyn's footsteps?

Poor Bross. I think the anatomical issues in her legs have gotten the best of her. She is in way too physically fit to be struggling as she is.

  4. Please let her 1) keep her shit together and win in a couple of days, and 2) keep her body and her shit together up to and including 2016. Dear G-d, PLEASE.

That beam set really makes me wish that the USAG would pull a China...

  5. @evilapprentice I was just about to say-if Katelyn were Chinese she'd be heading to the London Games-Stat! :D

Please Gymnastic Gods and Goddesses watch over young, incredibly gifted Katelyn Ohashi in the years heading towards the Olympics 2016! I love this girl, she's my new baby gym fave!♥

  6. Katelyn makes up for the overall SPLATFEST of the Senior ladies division with a few exceptions like arse-kicking vets Chellsie and Alicia.

  7. I believe Katelyn would've challenged for medals big time at the Youth Olympics. Watching her on FX brings a warmth to my heart where I've felt just cold when I've watched something that is called 'choreography' or 'artistry' on that event and on beam too for many a weary year with only a few exceptions. Katelyn would have done the Soviets proud with that choreo and danceability.♥

  8. I tend to believe that double double off bars is dangerous the way she's landing it, but I mean, I guess if she can chuck it, why not... It's not there are a ton of meets for her to be in that she'll miss if she gets hurt.

  11. I know shes the second comming 4 u AJ..but does anybody else have a problem with nastia being on the selection commitee?

  12. Anonymous @ 1:01pm...I thought the SAME thing about Nastia being on the selection committee, and I do have an issue with it. My issue is that Nastia has not officially retired from gymnastics yet. In fact she is still talking like she might try for 2012. I'm not going to debate whether or not she's doing it for publicity or if she's actually going to make a run for it. But the fact remains that she is still acting as if it's a possibility that she will try for a spot on the team. And for that reason she should not be on this year's selection committee. It just seems a bit political to me.

  13. I don't think it is a good idea either. With her dad repping a lot of athletes, with her having personal relations (even preferences) amonst ex team mates (tighter with Alicia than Shawn or Chelse). Plus she is young. Plus an airhead.

They should pick someone else. What if Valeri follows Marta on as coordinator. That would really be messed up if she stayed then.

  14. What is Terin Humphries role? Is she on the selection commitee or not, I mean she was right beside Nastia? Are the three defintely Martha, John and Nastia, or is it Terin and Nastia is still the Athlete's rep?

  15. Terin is on the selection committee. Not that she is without potential entanglements, either. I'm trying to recall if any of the GAGE girls are old enough for the Olympics, plus she competed with Chellsie and Alicia. But it is significantly fewer conflicts than Nastia.

  16. Like Nastia has any real power.

Martha will do what she wants.

  17. @Anonymous 3:26 PM THIS!

However-I too don't think Nastia should be on that commitee. It gives the appearance of nepotism with her dad coaching gymnasts who may or may not be on the next Worlds and Olympic team.

  18. I totally agree. She should not be on that selection committee. Even if it is a meaningless position (as it most likely is).

I will never understand USA Gymnastics' "thinking." (I use that term loosely.) Do they have no common sense (my guess), or do they not give a f...?
