Jamie Silverstein: The Goddess

Let's discuss how Jamie moves.  Even after years away, the lean on the opening moves is to die for.  I've never seen someone with such a flare for the combination of music and corresponding movement of the human body.  It is to die for.  Let's all be ridiculous and come back after years away from the sport to deny the fabulous Morgan Matthews of a spot on the Olympic Team.

Look at the precision of posture, technique and expression.  Eat your heart out.

In my mind, Jamie and I skate this program together.  And the judges are never stupid enough to give the title to Naomi Lang.

It is disgusting how much more raw talent they had than any other American ice dance team in history.

This annual fierce Jew of Hanukkah owns a yoga studio where there are Yo-GaGa events.  Clearly we all need to take notice and sign up for classes.  We all need to cook vegan dishes with Jamie and explore our mutual love of Tori Amos.  God Bless.

  2. Jamie is absolutely incredible, but I don't think Justin is given enough credit. He is just as amazing as she is, IMO. He lets her shine and supports her, as well as matching her lines and edges. *Sigh* this team could have been one of the best ever. Expression, posture, edges, interesting choreography, complex holds.... there's not a moment left unnoticed. They were so astoundingly polished in every second of their performances. It's so depressing to hear the commentators talk about their future in ice dance. Meryl/Charlie, Tanith/Ben, and the Shibs have nothing on these two.

  3. Justin is one of the best male ice dancers, but Jamie is just unreal. Such a technician and an artist. Rare combination.
