  1. What a wonderful classic layback position from Janet Lynn! I wish we saw more laybacks like that today.

  3. In the clip of Brian - what is that jump at approx. 2:07 called?

Wish jumps that are not just about rotations got more credit in figure skating.

  4. No mention of Rudy Galindo's 1996 moment?

  5. I love that move that Peggy does--the spread eagle into the double axel into the spread eagle.

  7. Thank you for posting that video of Johnny's 04 LP. It was so brilliant. What a great event, when you pair it with Michelle's brilliant LP that year.

  8. Great combo jump, unusual for the day by Peggy @:53 - :55! Janet was like a wood sprite on the ice. Peggy looked every bit the Ice Queen-and I agree with Dick, great artistic qualities combined with fine athleticism.

  9. Thank you for posting these--what great memories of magnificent skating. I grew up near Rockford and followed Janet Lynn her entire career. She always skated with joy in her gift, and it became a gift to us. That is the essence of greatness in any performance. Thank you for the bliss.

  10. I loved that series of jumps Janet did at about 1:20... a series of steps into a one-foot axel, hop, double axel, then some other single or half-jumps into a double something. I wish skaters still did stuff like that. Just for novelty's sake.
