  1. Imagine having a pairs event like this in your country?!? Wow. Did Volosozhar 2-foot just about everything in that program? Her air position on throws is loose. I don't even care, V/T were lovely.

  3. three things stand out:

1)Russian Pairs is back - not judging by the quality of what came in first, but the quality of what came in fifth. Not since the late 70s, if even then, has the Russian field been THIS deep.
2)Of the top five pairs' 32 jumps in the long, includng more than one triple for everyone except K/S and B/L, one jump wasn't rotated (a few more weren't pretty). 97% accuracy. Boom.
3)In a city of 300,000, the arena is packed for a pairs' long program. I can't even imagine how much tickets for Sochi are going to sell on the secondary market.
4)I have no issue with pretty much any of the costumes, which is new for Rus pairs...

  5. I don't feel anything when V/T skate... Maybe it will come when they get more rapport between them. I feel like they skated like that with their former partners as well.

  6. Just watched this now and I have to say: K/S have a fantastic long program it really suits them. He just seems to get better and better every year but she seems to have lost her confidence, I hope it's due to her shoulder and she regains it soon. Maria and Jerome need time; I think they will be amazing.
