Pell is the White House's Strategic Planner on the National Security Council. He is the grandson of Senator Claiborne Pell who created Pell Grants over 40 years ago. He is a JAG and Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard. He seems like a prime candidate to being a great First Man.
This Republican duo will certainly make some fantastic babies who will all adorn the White House with cuteness and joy. We can't wait -- KWAN for PREZ.

ReplyDeleteI don't know what her personal political leanings are, but her public face is so very bipartisan: serving in official capacities under both the Bush and Obama administration, and dating the progeny of both prominent Republican (Philip Anschutz, father of Michelle's ex Christian) and Democratic (Sen. Pell, grandfather of Michelle's fiance Clay) figures. Love.
DeleteOn another note, the most impressive thing about Clay Pell: he's purportedly fluent in Chinese (Mandarin, I presume), Spanish, and Arabic! He might even speak better Mandarin than Michelle.
Michelle doesn't speak Mandarin at all or very poorly, so that is not a difficult feat.
DeleteIf I recall correctly, she had made intermittent attempts to learn Mandarin before taking courses while she was at Tufts. So who knows for sure.

And then they realize that raising dogs is hard work! They need attention all the time, and then there are the vet expenses and the dog food... It gives me all a headache.
