Junior Podium Training

Katelyn Ohashi arrived and has her shit together.

Lexie Priessman is in gear.  Her Amanar is hot and you know MLT has had her doing thousands of numbers and drills.

Kyla Ross looks ready for yet another domestic title.  Her consistency always wins out.

GAGE Beauties.  Armine is looking fierce again after giving birth.

  4. Too bad Ohashi is not eligible for 2012. She may contend with a similar body as Nastia c. 2008 in 2016 (if developed nations don't fuck shit up for the planet). The Japan team seem to be throwing the biggest tricks, besides the Russians at the moment.

Did Kyla execute an Amanar? Her stock just rose from boaring consistency to Carly Patterson potential.

Sarah's toe point is phenomenal. Her swing is labored, as is her tumbling slightly, but her delay adds to intrigue. Wouldn't quite call her gymnastics mysterious, but collectively, an American team will only challenge for gold if their team is diverse.

The juniors are so much more of a reckoning force without the baggage of their senior counterparts.

  5. I notice that Priessman and Maroney pike a bit on their Amanar vaults, which seems to aid in their rotating/landing. I like the execution of Ross's vault much better, although she has a weaker landing. I guess it's a tradeoff.

  6. I wish I was more excited by Ross, but I just can't get into her. She's very solid, but her bars, beam, and floor elements are all so... regular. She's not aggressive, elegant, powerful, fierce, or any adjective besides the standard consistent. She's just so bleh to me.

  7. If only the USAG was into falsifying passports/birth certificates/wtfever was necessary...

  8. It is true...we could use Ohashi now and for 2012 and she is ready...stupid age rules...I can't get over how well Vanessa Atler would've done if she'd been able to compete in 96...
