Stoi: Anastasia Grishina

With the injuries to Mustafina and Komova and Dementyeva's inability to rotate a complete triple twist, Anastasia Grishina is taking full advantage of being the new HBIC of Round Lake.  It is only a matter of time before she develops a diva persona and starts giving her coach gray hair by spending too much time with the men's team, but it is a sight to behold.  Just keep her away from Nabieva between now and London.  Just imagine how pissed off Mustafina gets watching Anastasia from the sidelines.

  1. LOVE this girl's hands and carriage. Can all gymnasts please take note?

That DTY has improved from Jesolo, as as her double arabian : )

  2. Glad you're back, AJ. <3 Any word on Mustafina's injury status? I have been trying to find out anything I can online, but that's always a wild goose chase.

  4. A new beam dismount might be in order though. The double pike is scary.

  6. Hey "Mister"

Mustafina is back to Munich with Komova for post surgery evaluation on since last week. Her recovery is on track. She will remain in Germany for rehab for a while though. She is planned to appear in next year's Euros. Meanwhile, she is doing some upper body conditioning on UB on constant basis. On the other hand, Komova had an ankle stabilization surgery. She will be able to start tumbling in 4 months and back to comptetion end of year.
I hope this is a satisfactory update.

  7. Alya is planning to participate in Worlds this year on bars and maybe on beam, if she is ready. Komova will be back to trainings in 6 weeks and is going to participate in Worlds if nothing is wrong

  8. Awesome! Thanks for the updates! I really want to see both of those gymnasts back in competition. They actually made me enjoy gymnastics again.

  9. Too bad her floor routine has been sterilized of all of the best choreography. Love her gymnastics though.

  10. I think Aliya trying to compete this year would really be pushing it. The last thing she'd want to do is re injure her knee o] due to competing prematurely.

  27. Still missing Dave. Hope he comes back. Understand that he needs to do things pursuant to education, etc. , but hope he doesn't give this up entirely. He has unique talents/skills/insights in skatenastics, and it would be a shame if this went fallow and the hard won knowledge isn't later used to his advantage.

I'm always amazed that people diversify their savings portfolios, but focus on one source of income.
Speaking from experience- you will need MORE than one 'tool in the tool kit' to cut it in the new economy; while figure skating / gymnastics don't seem to be a $ maker, there are ALWAYS opportunities for the very few who are prepared & can then capitalize on it. (While there are many starving artists, NOT ALL starve!)
Luck does come to the prepared mind!- and I hope Dave doesn't let this go by the wayside.
    We miss you, Dave!
