This and That

Dancing With The Stars knows how to create drama.  They almost always give Cheryl Burke a partner to roll around with and they typically give Maksim Chmerkovsky a headstrong woman to banter and argue with.  This season, Maks is supposedly partnered with the hot mess known as Kirstie Alley.  Let the games begin!

It looks like it'll be a fantastic season.  Rumored pairs (via TMZ...the people who camped out of Tiger's house and were there for his wife hitting him with golf clubs):

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke
Lil Romeo and Chelsie Hightower
Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel
Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovsky
Wendy Williams and Tony Dovolani
Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas

  1. I would love to know what gave shannon her cancer. Was it the silocone or the horrible diet she was on. If she was taking those hormones to delay puberty that would do it. I have long thought that Plushenko and shannon would have made a nice pair. {the nice pair before shannon hacked away at her nose}

  2. wow shannon had a huge crowd there at her launch for her walk fit program. Who said she was a washed up wanna be? She may be dying but she sure knows how to fill up a picnic table at the park!

  3. Wow, asshole, you have no idea if anything GAVE Shannon Miller her cancer. Odds are? Nothing. A ton of otherwise healthy people just develop cancer and it's not your business to claim that there is anything inferior about the way she is living her life. I'm sure (/hope) you didn't mean it like that and were just trying take a jab at Shannon Miller - which, whatever, I don't care - but know when too far is too fucking far.

  6. Is it just me or is Jordyn Wieber's floor music horrible? Am I missing something? It sounds like bad 80's elevator music from Hell.

    She does look good though.

  7. If Wieber and Raisman were standing next to each other, I wouldn't be able to tell you who was who. lol

She's in pretty fine form and will give Mustafina a good run for her money. This will definitely be a meet worth watching.

  8. Wieber's music is horrible and her "dance" is nearly as bad. What's up with the stiff arms and fugly hands?

  9. I kind of like Wieber's music! Am I alone in this one? lol

  10. I kinda like it too! I think it's because it's different. It's not classical, it's not spanish music that is poorly danced to, and it's not odd like shawn johnson's random sirens in her routine. it's not the greatest choice but it's not horrible. and her dancing is off, as per usual. i've given up on most dancing. ppl say how balance beam is posey, floor is definitely turning into that. how many hand movements, leg twitches can we have that won't force her to use energy? what are all the ways she can shuffle into the corner, look (questionably) pretty, not waste energy, and focus on doing her next move? this is dancing is meh but you have to admit, her tumbling is pretty spectacular here.

i'm curious how she'll do with the pressure. competing against the reigning world champion and aly breathing down her back wanting gold. i'm not quite sure aly has a chance but this is definitely aly's chance to prove to marta that she deserves to be where she is and she is more than just asac 2.

  11. I don't love Weiber's musc, but I thought her performance level was awesome! Does she open with a double/double?!!! or is it a half-in/half-out?

  12. Wow, accusing someone of bringing cancer on themselves? Does it get much more sick than that? Seriously man.

  13. Wieber's tumbling is pretty spectacular, I agree, but the music is there for a reason and I hate how 99% of today's FX routines are nothing but a bunch of unrelated spastic moves that seem to have been made up on the fly. Tweddle's latest FX is hideous and I don't get why everyone is so in love with Pop's choreography.

  15. saying that her breast implants that cause all kinds of auto immune diseases gave her cancer is like saying that smoking causes cancer. sometimes but not always!

  16. So you all know, Shannon doesn't have cancer. She had a malignant germ cell tumor removed from her ovary and is opting for 9 weeks of preventative chemo to make sure a tumor doesn't come back.
Also, cancer is genetic. Her mom had ovarian or cervical cancer. She didn't get the tumor from implants or other plastic surgery. Maybe some of you should think before you say something so incredibly unintelligent and insensitive.

  17. Okay, @4:04, that comparison is totally inappropriate and misleading. Breast implants DO NOT cause cancer. Women with and without implants show exactly the same incidence, severity, and survival rates of all types of cancer. Hundreds of epidemiological studies have concluded nothing. So, please, stop.
