More Yu-Na Mania!

Peter and Karen have done wonders with Yu-Na (as has David Wilson.)  Even from just simple practice clips, her overall skating has improved tremendously.  The clips say this is her short program, but none of the clips include any music.  Yu-Na is supposed to debut her programs at Worlds.

She looks ready to kick some ass at Worlds.  Now if only she'll compete.  Translations would be great appreciated!

  4. Yuna said : It’s been for 8 months since I left Korea, I’m practicing at Taenung ice link. I’m very happy to practice with other skaters, I can’t show whole programs so I showed some parts of short program. I’ll show perfect programs on ice show. I might be going to practice new short program for ice show(All that skate) which is going to be held in May. The short program hasn’t be edited yet for the ice show. As soon as it’s edited, I’m going to keep practicing hard. (About the world figure championship) I heard that I could hear some news from ISU soon, I’m going to keep practicing as usual.

This is translations of the last video clip. My English proficiency is not perfect. If someone finds something wrong, please correct it :) thanks.

  5. Yuna says to the reporters that she is happy to be back in Korea after 8 months and also to train with her fellow Korean skaters on the same ice. She is waiting for ISU to decide on the new venue and new schedule for the worlds, and in the mean time her focus will be on preparing for the All That Skate ice show that will be held in Seoul in early May. She will showcase the Giselle number and a new gala program at the show. She says she needs to rearrange Giselle to fit for a smaller show rink size because the number was designed for competition. No details on the new gala program nor her long program was mentioned. In other interviews, she said she is planning on having an ice show in the US in August, presumably in a similar format as last year's All That Skate LA. She says she will showcase her long program at the show.

  6. Yuna always made complete transformation from previous seasons, and the trend continues this season again. This program seems to be totally different from anything she has done so far.

  7. All her Moves are so sharp and crisp. She seems to be a different skater from last season, if that is possible at all.

  8. I hope she continues, she is pushing ladie's figure skating into unparalleled level of excellence because of the visible improvements she made each year.

While every skater always have rooms for improvements and have experiences peaks and troves in their career. Rarely has excellence been enriched and heightened with as much consistently and clarity as Yuna continues to demonstrate from already a high place since her début.

With time, her refinement and maturity can only get better and it is amazing to see.

  12. Anyone who thinks it was "impossible for Yuna to be better than she was in the Olympic season" is just wearing rose-colored glasses. Back then, she was still rather reserved, slightly stiff at times, and lacked stretch and good leg line at times. In these videos, she shows some really nice improvements, especially in terms of the fluidity and expressiveness of her moves.

  20. Yuna's skating has been polished even further to a lapidary style.
She has achieved artistic movement, clarity of articulation, and fluidity.
It is going to be hard to beat her.
