This and That

Alissa Czisny was featured in Chrysler ad during the Super Bowl.

Voir's new Samba free dance is a gaytino sensation in terms of music.  They will be skating to Hip Hip Chin Chin by Club Des Beluga and Mujer Latina by Thalia.  Fans of DWTS will know that the Samba is the most difficult of the latin rhythms.  Kristi Yamaguchi even got an 8 when performing the Samba on the hit dance show.

Derek Hough announced that he will not be on the upcoming season of DWTS because he is filming Cobu 3D.  Derek previously starred in Footloose on the London's West End.  There were reports that he'd land a role in the film remake with his sister, but it appears that the producers decided to avoid the incestuous route.

Johnny Weir just closed on a $1.1 Million condo in Manhattan.  Moving away from his coaches in New Jersey would signal he is continuing on the professional route.

  1. HEY don't count Johnny out next year - he just tweeted about a rough cut of his new short music. Don't get me wrong. I would LOVE to see him work and come back and compete but I have accepted the fact it won't happen.

  2. As a Latino, can I just say that Voir's FD is likely to be the whitest thing ever?

  3. I respect them for mixing it up and taking a risk. I tire of their 'romantic bs' after a while. They need to branch out if they are going to repeat as Olympic Champions.

just like Marlie's Bollywood FD was the whitest thing ever?

  5. Hackensack, where Johnny would train, is just minutes from Manhattan, so his getting a new apartment would have no impact on his training. He claims to have SP music already. The thing is that he's obviously older and still showered with bizarre fame-whoring fashion opportunities, so who knows if he could put his mind to training. Right now he's living pretty large.

  6. I wish more skaters were as awesome as Ashley Wagner. It is admirable the way she is able to use disappointment to fuel her for future competitions. She has a great perspective on things and it already talking about how she can improve for next year. She's inspiring, driven, and motivated. Love her.

  7. To anon @ 6:04 PM

You mean, that folk-like creation to a selection of Indian pop music done in collaboration with a fitness instructor of Indian descent?

  9. Commuting from NYC to Hackensack daily is an unnecessary pain in the ass. Perhaps his SP will become a show program, like Lysacek's Tango de Roxanne and Cohen's Espana Cani.

  10. Maybe he'll even add a second 3T to the initial layout.

  11. Uh, Hackensack is not minutes away from Manhattan. Traffic over the George Washington Bridge is pain-stakingly and ridiculously slow. Taking the train is not much better, either.

  12. yeah and we can all picture miss Weir and his Balencia bag on the ny public transit. He moved to NY for the fashion and the parties.

can't wait to see Voir. I kind of hope they keep this program next year as thy won't have the time to grow into it before worlds.

  15. Did you notice the sweet release move Stanford's Pechanec did? Love the innovation!

  16. @9:42: Good God..have you ever heard about humor and not taking yourself too seriously? I think you need to adjust your threshold for embarrassment.
