Miss Val answered the first batch of questions in the now weekly Ask The Bruins.  New Q+As will be posted each Thursday.

Families are flipping at the chance to train at Legacy Elite.

Bronwyn wrote an article about the hype surrounding Viktoria Komova.  For those who don't know, Brownyn has a new blog that is well worth a read.

Absolute Skating has a new interview with Tomas Verner.  He talks about the change in his skating and his relationship with Nathalie Pechalat.

Evan Lysacek is debuting on the fourth hour of the Today Show on Monday.  That is the batshit fun hour with Hoda and Kathie Lee.  If he becomes their token gay, I will be extremely jealous.  I have long dreamed of kicking that assistant off her laptop and taking her place.  KLG and I were made for each other.

New theaters are being added for RISE almost every day.  I need to hurry up and get my tickets.

Gregory and Pethukov announced "Lyubov," which will be yet another reason to head to Vegas.  It will be a skating/Cirque fusion type show with music, cinema, sound effects, etc  and it would be fantastic for the sport if it could become the little show that could.  We need to get them to beg Jamie Silverstein to perform in the show.

Phil Hersh is not pleased with President Obama's response to the US being snubbed as a World Cup host city.

Volosozhar and Trankov beat Mukhortova and Blanchard at the Russian Regional Championships 201.45 to 173.99.

  2. Tomas Lysacek Verner is not working on his problem of doing quads and triples in the same program. He is just chucking quads and regressing for success. Quadless for progress. This giving up is not appealing. He is not appealing to me anymore. What is he so fragile that moving to Canada AND doing quads would crush him? Please! Everyone knows his free skate layout and short program layout were just slavishly copied from Lysacek! He is Cek Verner and that works because he is Czech! LOL!

So is this the show that Weir SHOULD have put on (but is too f***ed up to pull off)?

  4. I was beginning to wonder what happened to Maria. I'm glad she found a new partner because as much of a headcase as she is, I really do appreciate her skating (especially her throw landing positions). Their programs were just alright though, and the music cuts for Nutcracker were pretty bad...
