  2. Kavaguti and Smirnov will be passed over for V/T .I can't feel bad because I don't like Kavaguti...no matter how much I've tried.

  3. this photo confirms my mad crush on Trankov. he has the most perfectly proportioned body of any men's pair skater. yummy. their performance was amazing! SO glad to see them on fire! and, yes, i too am NO Kav fan, so glad to see them, at least temporarily on top.

  4. V/T are simply better skaters. They typify the great Russian lines, unison, drama, etc. I wish Moskvina coached V/T instead of K/S.

  5. I wish Moskivina coached them too. She's one of my fav coaches. I also love Volosozhar (not so much her husband...sorry) and I also felt for Trankov when he was with Maria. I was excited when V/T were planning to become a skating pair.

  6. I absolutely love Tatiana Volosozhar, she's an unbelievable talent and I'm so happy that she and Trankov have turned out to be such a fantastic pair. I'm over the moon that they've arrived to take the spot as Russia's top pair and give some of the other pairs a kick up the backside in time for Sochi.

I'm not sorry to see Kavaguti and Smirnov lose the number one slot. He's too full of himself and I've never liked Kavaguti's skating, even back in the days before she started skating for Russia - I can't stand how she skates with her mouth open all the time like she's swallowing flies. It's not joyful, it's just annoying!

And count me in as pleased that Moskvina isn't coaching/choreographing for them. I cannot stand her as a coach! Back in the 80s and 90s he lucked out working with the top pairs which Russia had to offer her and were a result of the top class Soviet training system, but in recent years, when she's been faced with teams with anything less than amazing natural ability, she's screwed up by giving them tricks which are beyond them and putting them in ridiculous costumes which leave everyone scratching their heads, she never seemed to be able to get her head around COP.

I'd love to see Zoueva doing some more pairs stuff for V&T. The stuff she did for G&G was sublime and highlighted their line and poise, especially by the time they came back in 94. Tatiana reminds me of Katia very much in her skating style.
