Skate America - Pairs Results

Does someone care to explain Savchenko & Szolkowy's "Pink Panther" costumes? Their routine, for that matter?

  1. Yea those costumes on S/S aren't exactly pretty but I think the program was nice and I'm not a fan of anyone skating to Pink Panther. The program usually turns out to be too cheesy.

  2. Savchenko & Szolkowy's Pink Panther was actually really great, and she stayed in character the whole way through. This was a real departure for them to smile throughout the program rather than be serious. I don't normally like Pink Panther, and the costumes aren't cute, but it actually worked for them! The choreography suited the music great, and aside from some ugly moments, it was a really well-done performance. I like the new position they invented in their pair spin!

  3. All in all I was thankful to see S&S. The rest of the field skated pretty well, but they are really unpolished compared to S&S, who remind me of last year, when, you know, there was actually more than one top-seed at an event. S&S had their issues here and there, but they are a lot more interesting than the Canadian team (who were good, just unrefined).

  4. If I had a body as ripped as Aliona's, I'd wear hot pink body suits too...

  5. I assumed Robin was Inspector Clouseau, always being outwitted by Aliona's Pink Panther?
