  1. There isn't much to say about mao's fp,i liked the music, not so much the program itself but its too soon to tell, when she performs it better it could be great.
I also liked her dress just not the bust area, what is up about that design that she loves so much,i dont get it.

  2. Rochette is too capable to not compete this year!

  3. Joannie's costume doesnt seem to go with the music or the program/ Love the skirt of Mao's costume.

  4. Mao...just timing off. I swear everyone has to go through of skate like this once. Glad she got it out the way.

  5. A) I'll like Mao's program a lot more with some consistent jumps, but it's got good bones.

    B) I'm kinda shocked Joannie's competing. I didn't think middle part of the program where she changed the choreography to take into account the new rules worked at all. But great looking jumps.

    C) Hell froze or Mercury is in retrograde but I ACTUALLY LIKED MIKO ANDO'S PROGRAM. Jesushfuckingchristonastick. I'm surprised she's back this season, too, but finally someone found a look - music, choreography, costume, everything - that suits her. How many years did that take?

    D) Love Daisuke. Love Piazzolo. Love this program. I even love the fact that, just to be different, he does a quasi-layback spin that's probably barely a level 2 and an odd combo spin that surely doesn't gain as many points as he's capable of. Hate the hair; he needs a cut.

  8. Mao's always like this at the beginning of the season - especially with her reworking of the jumps. Miki...she actually looked much improved until the stupid step sequence :/. Dai looks great, as does Joannie! Hope she keeps competing!

  9. Went to see it LIVE yesterday, along with the 'Carnival On Ice' later in the evening !! The shining STAR of the day was neither of the above. It was Adam Rippon by far !

  10. Adam stole that ending pose from Sasha! nice clean skate. still does nothing for me emotionally, but I hope he can keep this doing bs not burn out before worlds. Making the team will be child's play for him this year.

Mao is making a lot of changes. very brave. I hope she cannatart seeing results soon.

  11. Apparently, Tahakashi had a stamina problem in this performance. He looked very thin, with the very sharp jaw line and cheek bones and small waist. I hope he and his team work on that. His mambo SP is very physically demanding as well. I love this FS program, very sophisticated and elegant. I'm looking forward to seeing it develop as the season progresses.

  12. IT TOOK A VERY LONG TIME, BUT MIKI ANDO HAS TOTALLY IMPROVED!

  13. Takahashi and Rippon both have great programs!

  14. Wow! Miki Ando totally impressed me. She actually looks like a contender out there, not the hasbeen she's been since 2007. Her arms are actually flowing with the music. She looks like she's actually listening to it now. She's not pumping her back as aggressively. Her dress is beautiful and I appreciate the long skirt. But the biggest improvement is with her posture. For years I have been yelling at my screen when she'd skate for her to "Stand up straight!" It was like she skated with her chin on her boots. It was so ugly. Her posture now isn't textbook yet but it's no longer an aberration. Joannie won the competition handily but I give Miki Most Improved and Most Likely To Succeed titles.

Mao! WTF happened? She's the world champ, fercrissakes! She was sleepwalking out there. That was a complete embarrassment. I guess I liked that her dress harkened back to her former, less-stressed self. 92 pts? Humiliation. I don't remember Mao ever falling twice in a FP.

Rippon! I always knew that this kid had IT but I didn't realize that it would come to the fore so suddenly. Was that seven triples? I can quibble about his slowness but that's nitpicking. He was superb and such a watchable young man. I can't wait for competition season to begin in earnest.
