  1. Looks like NHK is blocking some of the videos. Just got to watch Ashley and Carolina. Ashley looked good but a bit slow(?). Carolina had a nice program; I was surprised. But what was her solo jump? That was a very wonky-looking entrance. At first I thought she was going for a lutz but it looked like a loop. I feel Uncle Dick would call it "interesting" technique.

  2. I was underwhelmed by the ladies - no shocker there. I was happy, however, to see that Caroline actually did improve her jump technique on her flip. She's still slow though and it seems her back is preventing her from doing "the pearl."

  3. What is about Rachel. Even her short programs seem too long.

  4. Very glad to see Caroline is working on fixing her jump technique. The comments on youtube were fixated on her weight, but I really don't think she's that big. I just don't think her dress is flattering from the back. Her jumps are looking better, though.

Again, I don't really see how they placed Rachel above Ashley. She's the only one I can't manage to get fully through. Once the jumps are done, I lose interest.

Kanako was actually delightful to watch, and Carolina's music really suits her.

  5. I just don't understand Rachael Flatt. How can she manage to be so boring? It drives me so nuts.

She could totally be a champion. She needs to lose 10 lbs, change coaches - get one of those diva bitch types and have a personality chip implanted.

All I see is a doughy blob. And I don't know what jump that was Kostner did. Was that a loop or a Salchow?

  6. Cryptic: Why is P.O.D. - Boom listed as Ashley's Once Upon a Time in America sp? She'd prolly fare better internationally if she skated to Richard Wagner.
