  1. She looks so very frail... It's amazing she has the power that she does. On the replay of her bars set when she casts up to handstand, I see her shoulder blades really popping out of her. She's all bones, no meat! It will be interesting to see how she holds up health-wise.

  2. She was better in here that qualifying. She was so so fantastic! Gym gods, please keep her healthy.

  3. commi beehatch. Ponyhairtailed Godzilla (misspelled Jordan) is gonna crack her like a walnut. Put her on your tummy and flex those abs and just break her! USA! USA!

  4. I'd like to see some sort of rivalry develop between Komova and the strong US all arounders. Competitions are more fun when there is more than one contender.

  5. I'd much rather see a rivalry between Komova and Grishina. That is a rivalry I could support. It would be just like the good old days!

  6. What in the world was that crazy dance she did as she was walking out onto the floor before starting her routine? Bizarre. That said, she is a huge talent. But looks as fragile as a porcelain doll. Hope she doesn't break before 2012.

  7. I think a Kormova Grishina rivalry would be far more interesting than ShawNastia's faux bff-ness.

I love her L turn imediate ariel sheep jump combo!

  8. I love her two layout stepouts on beam! And the L-turn immediate aerial! The rest is good, but she's entirely too fragile looking. Her body will change and she'll have to make some adjustments... which is fine. It just won't make everything an easy walk in the park for her.

  9. Vika looks to have a great deal of power. The Russians have always been able to pull off difficult skills due to their core strength and technique.

  10. Grishina/Komova would be an awesome rivalry. I mean seriously if Grishina were to really get competitive with Komova, well those two literally live together. Oh to be a fly on the wall at Round Lake if that one happened.

Here's a question to if Grishina improves will she become Nastya 2.0?

All of the Russian girls have a trademark dance into their opening pose on floor.

  11. Her body types seems to mirror her mother's, who handled her puberty quite well.

What makes me so sad about this is that the best gymnast in the world cannot compete at the Worlds this year because of a stupid age limit.

  12. I'd totally get behind a Komova/Grishina rivalry as well. Grishina just needs to upgrade her vault & floor and she'll be right up to Vika's level. I'm so anxious to see them both as senios - hope they don't break and podium at the Olympics.

In my opinion, they are what Soviet gymnasts would look under the new code.

  13. Gosh, what a fabulous floor routine. Her speed and line are amazing. Gorgeous split jumps. Is it just me or does she look like Plushenko?
